  • Patent number: 6402984
Abstract: The invention effectively prevents occurrence of corrosion in water tubes or the like of boilers. The invention provides a method for operating a boiler, including regulating a concentration of sulfate ions SO42− in boiler water to under 500 ppm, and a method for injecting a sulfite base oxygen scavenger, including setting a concentration of residual dissolved oxygen in boiler feed water to 2-4 ppm. The invention further provides a sulfite base oxygen scavenger composition comprising: 3-30 weight % of at least one selected from a group consisting of Na2SO3, K2SO3, NaHSO3 and KHSO3; 1-20 weight % of NaOH or KOH; 0.2-2 weight % of potassium sorbate; and 5-500 ppm of CoSO4.

  • Patent number: 6190611
Abstract: A harness indicator is highly reactive to a trace amount of Ca2+, and is slow to degrade in a high temperature environment of greater than 50° C. In one embodiment, the hardness indicator contains EBT, a pH buffer, and a masking agent as main components, and an admixture of Mg-EDTA. In another embodiment, the hardness indicator contains EBT, a pH buffer, and a masking agent as main components, and an admixture of anhydrous Mg-EDTA. In another embodiment, the hardness indicator contains EBT, a pH buffer, and a masking agent as main components, and an admixture of anhydrous Mg-EDTA and potassium sorbate. In a further embodiment, the hardness indicator contains EBT, a pH buffer, and a masking agent as main components, and an admixture of Mg-EDTA and potassium sorbate. In a further embodiment, the hardness indicator contains EBT, a pH buffer, and a masking agent as main components, and an admixture of potassium sorbate.

  • Patent number: 4835440
Abstract: A cathode is arranged at one end of an envelope of a fluorescent lamp, and a plurality of anodes are arranged at the other end. A discharge path-forming structure is disposed between the cathode and anodes. The structure comprises a vessel having an open end at the position adjacent to the anodes and an inner space, and also comprises a dividing element for dividing the inner space into a plurality of divided discharge paths each including a corresponding anode. A fluorescent material layer is coated on the inner surface of the vessel in a manner whereby the lamp generates different color light beams.

  • Patent number: 4792243
Abstract: A bearing, having an inner ring, an outer ring, rolling members, inner seal members, outer seal members, a first grease having good heat resistance which is contained inward of the inner seal member, and a second grease having water-resistance and corrosion-prevention which is contained between the inner seal member and the outer seal member. The second grease prevents rusting in the outer and inner rings even if water enters the inner side of the outer seal member. The first grease assures satisfactory lubrication of the rolling members, the outer and inner rings under high speed and high temperature conditions.

  • Patent number: 4691750
Abstract: A barking machine has a container for processing logs formed with openings each extended lengthwise of the container, a transfer guide plate disposed between the openings, multiple notches formed in the openings, lower and side cylindrical rotators each having protruding barking blades on its outer periphery which pass through the notches, and a supporting member for retaining the transfer guide plate. In such a construction, the rotors are partially inserted into the openings, respectively. The lower rotor rotates so that its barking blades move toward the side opening, and the side rotor rotates so that its blades move upwardly. With this arrangement, it is possible to prevent the logs from being blocked between the rotators or falling from therebetween, and to provide a strengthened transfer guide plate with no deformation, thereby enhancing the circulating of logs in the container and the barking operation.
