  • Publication number: 20110148618
Abstract: An accelerator opening determining unit determines whether an accelerator opening achieved through an accelerator operation by a driver of a vehicle exceeds an upper limit value thereof. A travel distance adding-up unit adds up a travel distance within accelerator-opening upper limit value when the accelerator opening is not determined to exceed the upper limit value. When the accelerator opening is determined to exceed the upper limit value, the travel distance adding-up unit adds up a travel distance exceeding accelerator-opening upper limit value. A fuel-saving driving rating unit rates the driving of the driver based on each added-up value added up by the travel distance adding-up unit.

  • Publication number: 20110133921
Abstract: An accelerator-off, fuel-cut traveling determining unit determines whether the number of engine revolutions of a vehicle is equal to or higher than a predetermined value, whether an accelerator opening rate is equal to or lower than a predetermined value, and whether a traveling state is an accelerator-off, fuel-cut traveling state where a quantity of fuel injection to an engine is 0. When it is determined that the traveling state is the accelerator-off, fuel-cut traveling state, the traveling distance adding-up unit adds up accelerator-off, fuel-cut traveling distances. A fuel-saving driving rating unit rates driving by a driver based on each of the added-up values which were added up by the traveling distance adding-up unit. A fuel-saving driving advice generating unit notifies the driver of a fuel-saving driving advice together with a rating result in accordance with the rating result.

  • Publication number: 20110137511
Abstract: A fuel-saving driving diagnostic apparatus detects that the vehicle stops based on a vehicle speed indicating a speed of a vehicle, and detects that the vehicle is in an idling state indicating a state in which the vehicle is idled when a number of engine revolutions of the vehicle whose stop is detected is a predetermined threshold or more. The fuel-saving driving diagnostic apparatus determines whether the vehicle in the idling state is in a parking state based on a selection lever and/or a parking brake of the vehicle in the detected idling state. Then the fuel-saving driving diagnostic apparatus diagnoses fuel-saving driving based on an idling parking time for which the parking state of the vehicle is maintained.

  • Publication number: 20110137512
Abstract: A shift lever position determining unit (11b1) determines whether a shift lever position of a vehicle (1a) satisfies predetermined conditions. If the shift lever position is determined to satisfy the predetermined conditions, a travel distance adding-up unit (11c) adds up an optimum shift lever position travel distance. If the shift lever position is determined not to satisfy the predetermined conditions, the travel distance adding-up unit (11c) adds up an inappropriate shift lever position travel distance. A fuel-saving driving rating unit (12) rates driving by a driver based on each added-up value added up by the travel distance adding-up unit (11c). A fuel-saving driving advice generating unit (13) notifies the driver of fuel-saving driving advice together with a rating result in accordance with the rating result.

  • Publication number: 20110060493
Abstract: Navigation devices, methods, and programs acquire a reference position related to the traveling of a host vehicle and acquire a host vehicle condition at the reference position. The devices, methods, and programs accesses a travel information storage unit that stores travel sequences. The stored data for each travel sequences includes at least one position along the travel sequence, operation information that specifies a vehicle operation at each stored position, and vehicle condition information that specifies a vehicle condition at each stored position.

  • Publication number: 20100315217
Abstract: Provided is a driving support device including an other-vehicle detection unit that detects if an other-vehicle is traveling in the same lane as a host vehicle. The device also includes an overtaking operation detection unit to detect when the host vehicle overtakes the other-vehicle and a determination unit that evaluates an overtaking operation. When is determined that the overtaking operation is not appropriate, the overtaking operation is deemed a dangerous operation. The driving support device may also include continuation prediction unit that determines whether the other-vehicle will continue traveling in the same lane. If it is determined that the other-vehicle will continue traveling in the same lane, the other-vehicle is identified as a target vehicle by a target vehicle identification unit.
