  • Patent number: 6780456
Abstract: A work piece is mixed with Ni pieces having an average diameter of 1 mm and exhibiting catalytic activity to oxidation reaction of sodium phosphinate (NaH2PO2) added as a reducing agent in a plating bath containing the reducing agent and a Ni salt to form a Ni—P film on an electrode made of Cu, Ag or Ag—Pd by auto-catalytic electroless plating. Then, the work piece is dipped in a plating bath containing an Au salt to form an Au film on the surface of the Ni—P film by substitutional electroless plating. This method is capable of forming a desired plating film only on a desired portion at a low cost.

  • Publication number: 20030134050
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for forming a desired plating film on a desired place at a reasonable cost. When workpieces are mixed in a plating solution containing Ni ions with a great number of Zn particles having an average diameter of 1 mm and having an electrochemically base immersion potential with respect to the precipitation potential of Ni, the Zn particles are dissolved and generates electrons, the potential of Cu electrodes in contact with the Zn particles is shifted to an electrochemically base potential side, and hence the Ni ions are precipitated on the electrodes, thereby forming Ni plating films on the surfaces of the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 6500327
Abstract: An Sn—Bi alloy plating bath has a pH about 2.0 to 9.0 and comprises Bi3+ ions, Sn2+ ions, complexing agent (I) and complexing agent (II). Complexing agent (I) can be (a) aliphatic dicarboxylic acids having alkyl groups of 1-3 carbon atoms, (b) aliphatic hydroxymonocarboxylic acids having alkyl groups of 1-3 carbon atoms, (c) aliphatic hydroxypolycarboxylic acids having alkyl groups of 1-4 carbon atoms, (d) monosaccharides, polyhydroxycarboxylic acids produced by partially oxidizing the monosaccharides, and their cyclic ester compounds, and (e) condensed phosphoric acids. Complexing Agent (II) can be (s) ethylenediamineteraacetic acid (EDTA), (t) nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA), and (u) trans-1,2-cyclohexanediaminetetraacetic acid (CyDTA).

  • Patent number: 6459875
Abstract: A novel drying device for a wet type image forming apparatus including a nip roller; a heating roller incorporating a heater therein; a drying belt wound between the nip roller and the heating roller for circulation, being heated by said heating roller and being urged to contact with a surface of a photoconductor after forming a toner image for absorbing a developing solvent other than toner from the surface of the photoconductor; and a cleaning roller incorporating a heater and rotating with contacting with the drying belt. A drying unit including the nip roller, heating roller, and drying belt is moved so that the drying belt is displaced between a contacting position where it contacts with the surface of the photoconductor when in a printing state and a retracted position placed way from the conductor otherwise.

  • Patent number: 6418288
Abstract: A carrier collection device having an absorption belt, a heat source, a vapor collection tube, an absorption device, a condenser, a foaming member. The absorption belt absorbs a carrier from a developer, including a toner and the carrier, after being used for developing an electrostatic latent image on a photo-conductor. The heat source generates a carrier vapor from the absorption belt. The vapor collection tube surrounds the absorption belt. The absorption device absorbs the carrier vapor from the vapor collection tube. The condenser is arranged between the vapor collection tube and the absorption device. The condenser stores a coolant carrier in advance, includes a foaming member for foaming the carrier from the carrier vapor. Further, the condenser receives the carrier vapor from the vapor collection tube, condenses the received carrier vapor through the coolant carrier and the foaming member, and stores the condensed carrier together with the coolant carrier.

  • Patent number: 6400920
Abstract: A capacitor base and a partition plate laminated thereon are fixed to the bottom of a capacitor column. Openings in the partition plate are filled with air stones that are solidified ceramics. A predetermined amount of developer medium is stored in the capacitor column. Hot vaporized developer medium and water vapor are sucked through a suction port from an image drier of an electrophotographic device, and are passed through a channel of the capacitor base. Then, the vapor is discharged toward the bottom of the partition plate having no air stones, generating bubbles after being passed through the air stones, and is then cooled and liquefied. By cooling to an appropriate temperature with a Peltier element, only the vaporized developer medium is selectively liquefied without liquefying the water vapor. The developer medium that is liquefied from vapor is returned to the developing process of the electrophotographic device for reuse.
