    Abstract: A honeycomb heater has a honeycomb structure having a number of passages defined by partition walls, at least two electrodes in electrical contact with the honeycomb structure, a catalyst composition formed on partition walls of the honeycomb structure, including zirconia powder loaded with Rh, an inorganic heat-resistant oxide and a rare earth element oxide. A catalytic converter has at least one or two main monolithic catalyst(s) and a honeycomb heater disposed upstream, downstream or between the main monolithic catalysts.
