  • Patent number: 9062726
Abstract: A disc brake device includes a disc rotor, which rotates around a rotation axis, friction pads opposed to friction surfaces of the disc rotor, a first member provided on a fixed part on a vehicle body side, a second member supported so as to be slidable relative to the first member by a slide mechanism, a third member, which holds the friction pads and is supported so as to be swingable relative to the second member around a swing axis in a radial direction of the disc rotor as a center of swing by a swing mechanism, and a return mechanism provided on the swing mechanism to apply force to the third member to restore the same to an initial position in a swing direction. Therefore, the disc brake device has an effect of inhibiting abnormal noise.

  • Patent number: 7628595
Abstract: A gas vane pump wherein a lubricant is intermittently introduced into a housing during rotation of a rotor, through a supply passage formed through the housing and the rotor, and the relative position between the rotor having a diametric hole and the housing having a communication groove is determined such that when the rotor is at an angular position in the middle of a predetermined angular range relative to the housing and the hole is in communication with the groove, a point of contact between a vane movably held by the rotor and the inner circumferential surface of the housing is located at the lowest position of the inner circumferential surface. When the rotor is stopped within the predetermined angular range, the vane divides the remaining lubricant into two portions, which are discharged at different times, making it possible to reduce the load on the vane upon restarting the pump.

Abstract: A gas vane pump wherein a lubricant is intermittently introduced into a housing 10 during rotation of a rotor 40, through a lubricant supply passage 100 formed through the housing and the rotor, and the relative position between the rotor having a diametric hole 112 and the housing having a communication groove 130 is determined such that when the rotor 40 is placed at an angular position which is in the middle of a predetermined angular range relative to the housing 10 and in which the hole 112 is in communication with the groove 130, a point of contact between a vane 70 movably held by the rotor and the inner circumferential surface of the housing 10 is located at the lowest position of the inner circumferential surface, so that when the rotor 40 is stopped at an angular position within the predetermined angular range, the vane 70 divides the remaining lubricant mass into two portions, which are discharged at respective two different times one after the other, making it possible to reduce the load acting on

  • Patent number: 5052182
Abstract: A tandem master brake cylinder has first and second pistons, each piston associated with a fluid chamber and a pressure chamber. The pistons are displaced in response to actuation of a brake pedal. A hydraulic booster is coupled to a power source and is operable to enhance the piston movement and for conducting pressurized fluid to a second of the fluid chambers associated with a second piston to displace that piston in a manner reducing the volume of the pressure chamber associated with the first piston. In the event that a negative pressure is communicated with the second fluid chamber, e.g. by a loss of pressurized fluid from the power source, brake fluid is supplied through a one-way check valve to the second fluid chamber to prevent the negative pressure from reversing the motion of the second piston.

  • Patent number: 5027599
Abstract: A hydraulic braking system includes a tandem master cylinder having a bore with an opening and a closed wall at opposite ends thereof which formed in a housing, a first piston slidably fitted in the bore so as to define a first pressure chamber and a first fluid chamber therein and operatively connected to a brake pedal, a second piston slidably fitted in the bore so as to define a second fluid chamber adjacent to the first pressure chamber and a second pressure chamber and operatively connected to the first piston. A normally open valve communicates with each piston so as to close passages formed in the each pistons and communication between each fluid chambers and each pressure chambers, respectively, when each piston is moved in response to the depression of the brake pedal. A power source generates a hydraulic power pressure.

  • Patent number: 4986613
Abstract: A hydraulic braking system for an automotive vehicle having a power source for generating a hydraulic power pressure, a reservoir, a master cylinder, a hydraulic booster for actuating the master cylinder in response to depression of a brake pedal and a plurality of wheel brake cylinders for braking respective road wheels, which are divided into a first group of wheel brake cylinders communicating with the master cylinder and a second group of wheel brake cylinders communicating with the hydraulic booster. An auxiliary cylinder is disposed between the master cylinder and the first group of wheel brake cylinders to which a hydraulic braking pressure from the master cylinder is directly applied in its inoperative condition, and it increases the hydraulic braking pressure in response to depression of the brake pedal in its operative condition which is made when the hydraulic power pressure, for example, is less than the hydraulic braking pressure by a predetermined difference.

  • Patent number: 4887869
Abstract: A pair of spaced apart large-diameter and small-diameter lands between which a fluid chamber is defined are formed on a second piston in a tandem cylinder to which an anti-skid device is added. Booster pressure is applied to the fluid chamber to act on the large-diameter land in a manner fluidly locking the second piston against movement despite a reduction in pressure in the first and second pressure chambers during operation of the anti-skid device. As a result, the movement of the brake pedal in the normal direction of depression is prevented when the anti-skid devices operates.

  • Patent number: 4848853
Abstract: A hydraulic brake system includes a master cylinder for generating a brake fluid pressure in response to a brake pedal, a power fluid source for generating a power fluid pressure by increasing a brake fluid to a predetermined pressure. A dynamic fluid pressure control apparatus supplies the brake fluid pressure to regulate the power fluid pressure from the power fluid pressure source in response to the brake pedal. A plurality of wheel cylinders of each wheel for the vehicle are fluidically communicated with a dynamic fluid pressure control apparatus and the master cylinder via a fluid passage separated into plural control systems.

  • Patent number: 4289216
Abstract: A disc brake free from dragging torque while being in non-braking state. In this brake, a gap between the friction surface of a rotary disc and the acting surface of an actuator for urging a braking pad assembly onto the disc is made progressively larger into a wedge shape toward the axis of the disc. The torque receiving surface of a torque receiving member is made so slant as to produce a component for moving the pad assembly in a direction away from the axis of the disc in a wedging manner into the gap. The pad assembly is of corresponding shape to the above-mentioned gap and the torque receiving surface.

  • Patent number: 4246985
Abstract: An auto-adjusting mechanism in a disc brake comprising axially movable adjust bolt, adjust nut threaded on adjust bolt, cylindrical piston for transmitting the operating force of a pad-urging-piston to the adjust nut when the piston has moved beyond a predetermined value, spring structure for biasing cylindrical piston toward adjust nut. The cylindrical piston is integrally moved, while the wearing of the brake pads is insignificant, with the piston, but when the wearing has progressed largely, it is abutted on the adjust nut to be separated from the piston, with a result of leaving the thrust force from the spring structure act solely on the adjust nut and rotatingly propelling the nut for compensating the increased brake clearance. And this cylindrical piston is, when the braking fluid pressure in the cylinder body is raised beyond a predetermined value, separated from the adjust nut overcoming the urging force of the spring structure. The over adjustment is prevented in this way.
