    Abstract: A compressor includes front and rear cylinder blocks, a drive shaft rotatably supported by the cylinder blocks, a swash plate mounted on the drive shaft, a plurality of cylinder bores defined in the cylinder blocks and located around the drive shaft, and a plurality of pistons respectively disposed in the cylinder bores. The pistons reciprocate by converting rotation of the drive shaft with the swash plate. A plurality of compression chambers are defined in the cylinder bores for compressing the gas supplied to the cylinder bores in accordance with the reciprocating movement of the pistons. Each compression chamber has dead volume defined by a space having a predetermined volume when the associated piston is at top dead center in each cylinder bore. A reference capacity is defined by the capacity when the piston is at a bottom dead center of the cylinder bore that has the smallest dead volume.

    Abstract: A device for transmitting rotational power from a rotational power source to a rotational driven member is provided with a first rotating member provided for rotation in a rotational direction about an axis, and a second rotating member provided for rotation about the same axis. The first rotating member is connected to the rotational power source and the second rotating member is connected to the rotational driven member. An mechanism for rotationally connecting the first and second rotating member is provided. The connecting mechanism is provided with at least one elastic member made of a rubber material; a first holder member for holding the elastic member from the radially outside of the elastic member; and a second holder member for holding the elastic member from the radially inside of the elastic member. The first and second holder members are mounted to one of the first and second rotating members.

    Abstract: A blade member for cutting tools comprises a cermet substrate having on a surface thereof a reaction layer. The reaction layer is composed of carbo-nitride of at least two metals in groups IV.sub.A, V.sub.A and VI.sub.A, the metals including Ti. The reaction layer may be composed of oxy-carbo-nitride of the above metals. The reaction layer may consist of inner and outer layers, the inner layer being composed of carbo-nitride of the above metals while the outer layer is composed of oxy-carbo-nitride of the above metals. The blade members with the reaction layer exhibits excellent toughness, wear resistance and thermoplastic deformation resistance. There is also disclosed a process for producing the above blade member.
