  • Patent number: 9421936
Abstract: A light-weight and inexpensively-manufacturable case member of an airbag device is provided. The case member includes an inner portion integrally formed with an edge portion of an opening portion of a housing portion configured to internally hold a folded airbag and an inflator. A lid is fixed to a housing portion at a position where the lid at least partially covers the airbag housed in the housing portion. The opening portion is covered by an outer portion. Thus, a light-weight case member in which the inflator and the folded airbag are housed in the housing portion and covered by the lid can be manufactured inexpensively, without integration of a separately provided housing portion and lid or fixing the airbag or the inflator using an additional component.

  • Patent number: 9403504
Abstract: A vent hole communicating with an air chamber is opened in an airbag main body. A cover is disposed outside the air chamber of the airbag main body with respect to the vent hole. One end of the tether is connected to the cover via the vent hole, and the other end is connected to the airbag main body. If the tether is not pulled by the airbag main body, the vent hole is reliably opened to discharge gas to the outside. If the tether is pulled by the deployed airbag main body, the cover is partially drawn into the vent hole so that the cover is ensured to be in tight contact with the edge of the vent hole so as to reliably seal the vent hole.

  • Publication number: 20130001933
Abstract: An occupant protection apparatus for a vehicle includes a curtain airbag device and a side airbag device. The vehicle includes a side window glass for closing from a vehicle body upper construction to a waist line of the vehicle. The curtain airbag device includes a curtain airbag and is installed at the vehicle body upper construction. The side airbag device includes a side airbag stowed at a lower level than the waist line and installed in a seat of the vehicle. Upon a side impact to the vehicle, the curtain airbag is developed downward, and the side airbag is inserted into a space between the curtain airbag and the side window glass. According to the occupant protection apparatus, development, man-hours such as adjustments of gas amounts of inflators and a production cost can be decreased in spite of the installation of at least two types of airbags.

  • Patent number: 7654560
Abstract: An air bag 1 is provided. At a vehicle side impact, the air bag 1 unfolds from an upper part of a vehicle body downwardly. The air bag 1 includes an airbag body 10 having an inside foundation cloth 8a and an outside foundation cloth 8b, and a pair of inner-cloths 19a, 19b arranged in the airbag body 10. The inside inner-cloth 19a is joined to the outside inner-cloth 19b through two inner junctions 21, 21 separated from each other in a fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle. The inner-cloths 19a, 19b have front ends, rear ends and intermediate portions between the inner junctions 21, 21, all of which are joined to the foundation cloths 8a, 8b through overlapping junctions 22a, 22b. In arrangement, the overlapping junctions 22a of the inside inner-cloth 19a are shifted from the overlapping junctions 22b of the outside inner-cloth 19b forwardly. Consequently, triple-layer tubular expansion chambers 25a, 26, 25b are defined in the airbag body 10, allowing a passenger's head to be received certainly.

  • Publication number: 20050068152
Abstract: An examining method is provided to expedite customs clearance procedures including authenticity verification of brand-name products. A writing apparatus of a company manufacturing or selling brand-name products sends information encoded using an encoding key to an ID tag assigned to the products. The ID tag stores the encoded information. An examining apparatus of an official responsible for examining the authenticity of the products receives the information from the ID tag and decodes the information using a decoding key. The decoded data and a pre-stored company code are compared to determine whether a match is found. If the products are authentic and an export license is granted, an employee of a shipping company encodes the information described in a bill of lading (B/L) and stores the encoded information in the ID tag. The B/L information is read from the ID tag and is decoded using a decoding key.
