  • Publication number: 20110252449
Abstract: Upon reception selecting a program to be viewed, upon recording a received program, and upon reproducing a recorded program, as well as at the end of each operation thereof, a master creates viewing information including a corresponding program name, a transmission station name, and a name of a current operating mode thereof, and transmits the created viewing information to the slave via the viewing information management server, and when an option for “viewing an identical program to the master” provided in an input unit for selecting the program to be viewed is selected, a slave receives and displays or receives and records a program having an identical station name to a program that is currently being received and displayed or received and recorded in the master, on the basis of the latest viewing information of the master received from the viewing information management server.

  • Patent number: 7693278
Abstract: An RTP packet generating unit 11 packetizes data into packets, and adds identification information to the header of each of the packets, the identification information identifying each of the packets. An RTP packet encrypting unit 13 divides data included in each of the generated packets into blocks, and encrypts the data included in each of the packets on a block-by-block basis using an encryption key which an encryption key sharing unit 12 shares with a receiving client in such a manner that, when encrypting a first block of the data, the packet encrypting unit encrypts it using the identification information for identifying each of the packets, which is contained, as an initial vector, in the header of each of the packets, and, when encrypting each subsequent block of the data, encrypts it according to an encryption method which uses an immediately-previously-encrypted block.

  • Patent number: 7613730
Abstract: A media delivering apparatus and method for delivering media data via a network to a media receiving apparatus is disclosed. The delivering apparatus includes a parameter acquiring unit which acquires both a communication capability of the network, and the receiving capability of the media receiving apparatus. A media selecting unit selects media data to be delivered based on both the degree of media importance assigned to each media data and at least the one of the communication capability of the network and the receiving capability of the media receiving apparatus. A transmission-data generating unit generates metadata in which both address information about each selected media data and presentation layout information are described. A data transmitting unit delivers the metadata to the media receiving apparatus by way of the network, and a media communication unit delivers the media data in response to a request from the media receiving apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20090183223
Abstract: When carrying out reception and video-recording of a plurality of programs, a stream receiving unit (201) of a receiver (200) receives one of the plurality of programs, a recording unit (203) outputs a recording start request and a recording end request to a recording control unit (103) of a video-recording and distribution apparatus (102), a recording control unit (103) records a predetermined program according to the recording start request and the recording end request, and a download receiving unit (205) of the receiver (200) outputs a download start request after the stream receiving unit (201) ends the reception of the one of the plurality of programs to download recorded data of another one of the plurality of programs which are recorded by the video-recording and distribution apparatus (102). The receiver (200) thus limits the number of programs which it receives simultaneously to one.

  • Publication number: 20090177952
Abstract: An error extracting unit 7 detects that an error has occurred in a medium stream received, and determines the position of the occurrence. An error specific information adding unit 13 adds error specific information indicating that the error has occurred before the transcoding to an access unit on which the transcoding has been performed, the access unit corresponding to the medium stream in which the error has occurred at the time of the reception.

  • Publication number: 20080216177
Abstract: When the DRM mode indicated by a client terminal 1 differs from DRM (Digital Rights Management) modes available to a license server 2 and a distribution server 4, the license server 2 requests a DRM mode converting server 6 to convert the DRM mode of the multimedia contents. When the DRM mode converting server 6 receives the conversion request of the DRM mode, it converts the DRM mode of the multimedia contents distributed from the distribution server 4 to the DRM mode available to the client terminal 1, and transfers the multimedia contents passing through the conversion to the client terminal 1.

  • Patent number: 7191370
Abstract: A data receiver (201) or gateway (203) notifies a data transmitter (202) of error conditions in the data receiver (201) or gateway (203) via networks 1 (204) and 2 (205). According to the error conditions, the data transmitter (202) transmits data at a packet length corresponding to the error rate even for the higher level protocol common the networks 1 (204) and 2 (205), as well. Thus, the fraction of packets lost can be reduced in the higher level protocol common to the networks 1 (204) and 2 (205).
