  • Patent number: 6882628
Abstract: The communication apparatus appropriately allocates a plurality of communication tasks to a plurality of communication systems based on the channel qualities of the respective communication systems at that time, so that the communication tasks can be processed in parallel by the communication systems. Accordingly, the communication system, to which a communication task is allocated, can be changed to another communication system without interrupting the communication task while maintaining the synchronization with the other end of communication.

  • Publication number: 20040106424
Abstract: A power consumption control method is applied to a communication system including a reproduction apparatus capable of reproducing content data and an output apparatus capable of outputting data based on the reproduced content data. The content data reproduced by the reproducing apparatus is transmitted to the output apparatus through a radio communication interface. At least one of the reproducing apparatus and the output apparatus is transitioned from an ordinary operation mode to a low-power consumption operation mode through the radio communication interface, when a data reproduction stop request is made in another of the reproducing apparatus and the output apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20020031139
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a CPU and a memory connected to an internal local bus, and includes a data transmission/reception unit transmitting and receiving data to and from a public network, a voice encoding/decoding unit encoding and decoding voice data, an image encoding/decoding unit encoding and decoding image data, an external input/output interface controller controlling an input/output interface with an external unit, and an input/output switching unit selectively forming a data bus among the data transmission/reception unit, the voice encoding/decoding unit, the image encoding/decoding unit and the external input/output interface controller.

  • Publication number: 20010036273
Abstract: To allow flexible security level switching according communication situations, a password holding section holds a plurality of device authentication passwords, for example, a temporary password and a private password. The temporary password is valid only under a certain situation and the private password has a high level of confidentiality to increase the device security. A password management section allows the user to add a new password to the password holding section and delete an existing password therefrom. A password selecting section selects the most suitable password for current connection from among passwords in the password holding section according to a user event, information acquired by an external factor acquisition section, and information from a time control section. The selected password is output to a password checking section.
