  • Patent number: 5499034
Abstract: The invention provides a vehicle window glass antenna for transmission and reception of ultrashort waves used for mobile phones and radios for personal or business use. The antenna forms two classes. An antenna under one class comprises a first element consisting of a vertical conductive strip and a horizontal conductive strip connected to an end of the vertical conductive strip, and a second element consisting of a vertical conductive strip and a pair of horizontal conductive strips one of which is connected to an end of the vertical conductive strip of the second element. The horizontal conductive strips of the second element are disposed adjacently above and under the horizontal conductive strip of the first element so as to wrap around an end portion of the first element.

  • Patent number: 5479179
Abstract: An antenna attached to a window glass for transmitting and receiving ultrashort waves includes a primary antenna having a first feed point which is electrically connected therewith, a secondary antenna having a second feed point which is electrically connected therewith. A feeder is a coaxial cable having inner and outer conductors, an insulator disposed therebetween, and an outer cover covering the outer conductor. A first terminal which is electrically connected to the first feed point, a first holding portion for holding the inner conductor of the feeder so as to achieve an electrical connection between the first terminal and the inner conductor. A second terminal which is electrically connected to the second feed point has a second holding portion for holding the outer conductor of the feeder. The second holding portion has a through opening which is substantially rectangular or elliptical in shape for pouring thereinto a solder to achieve a soldering between the outer conductor and the holding portion.

  • Patent number: 5416491
Abstract: An antenna is attached to a rear window glass of an automobile and arranged in a space between a defogging heater element and a lower edge of the window glass. According to an aspect of the present invention, the antenna comprises a plurality of horizontal conductive strips having the length of 0.02.lambda..multidot.f.sup.1/2 (1.+-.0.2), adjacent two of which are connected at opposite ends so as to constitute a rectangular loop. The number of the horizontal conductive strips is in the range of 2 to 4.

  • Patent number: 5353039
Abstract: This invention provides a vehicle window glass antenna arranged in a space left below defogging heater strips for transmission and reception of ultrashort waves used for mobile phones and/or personal radios. The antenna section has a primary antenna which is a combination of a plurality of elongate elements connected to each other so as to form a closed plane figure having one to four vertexes each of which is acutely angled and pointed upward and becomes an upper end of the primary antenna. The plurality of elongate elements includes a single horizontally elongate element which becomes the bottom side of the plane figure. The antenna includes a secondary antenna section which is essentially a horizontally elongate element positioned below the primary antenna section. The antenna feeder is a coaxial cable, and the primary and secondary antenna sections are connected with the inner and outer conductors of the coaxial cable, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5185612
Abstract: The invention relates to an antenna on a vehicle rear window glass for the reception of FM radio broadcasting and TV broadcasting in both the VHF and UHF bands. The window glass is provided with defogging heater strips, and the antenna uses a space left above the heater strips. The antenna is essentially comprised of an L-shaped primary element with a vertical part on or close to the vertical center axis of the window glass and a horizontal part extending from the lower end of the vertical part, an impedance matching element located on one side of the vertical part of the primary element and an auxiliary element extending horizontally above the impedance matching element. The impedance matching element has two parallel horizontal parts, at least one vertical part connecting the two horizontal parts to each other and two extensions which extend vertically from the two horizontal parts, respectively, and bend to connect to the vertical part of the primary element.
