    Abstract: In an electrical jumper connector unit having two connectors connecting two electronic circuit boards included in an information processing apparatus, there are a first connector, a plate, a second connector fixed on the plate, and plural discrete cables connecting both the two connectors in a shell las a casing of the electrical jumper connector unit. The plate is included in the shell so as to move in any direction within a predetermined range relative to the shell, and a pair of knobs is fixed to the plate so as to protrude from a pair of openings of the shell. When the pair of the knobs moves in any direction within the predetermined range to the shell, the second connector fixed to the plate moves in the same way. When the second connector fixed to the plate agrees with an external output connector fixed on one of the two electronic circuit boards, the motion of the pair of the knobs discontinues.

    Abstract: A semiconductor wafer probing method for reducing the number of times of an "indexing" or wafer transfer operation and improving verification efficiency. In the semiconductor wafer probing method, a probe card has a first plurality of upright probe needles (e.g. sixteen) corresponding to chips (e.g. eight) arranged in a vertical or "row" direction and chips (e.g. 2) arranged in a horizontal or "column" direction. A first plurality of chips that can be verified by such a probe card is defined as an index region. A (second) plurality of index regions are arranged so as to minimize the number of occurrences where the probe needles will not have a chip to contact as the wafer and needles are moved relative to each other. Such (second) plurality of index regions is defined as a contact region 23.

    Abstract: A probe apparatus tests the electrical characteristics of chips formed on a semiconductor wafer by bringing probes into contact with pads of each chip. The probes, which include ones for power supply potentials, signals, and ground potential, are mounted vertically penetrating a ring block which is attached to the center of a main PCB of a probe card. A tray containing a number of fuses is mounted over the probe card by means of struts. The fuses in the tray connect wires of the main PCB, to which the supply potential of a DC power source is applied, and their corresponding probes. The fuses and the tray can be collectively removed from the probe card to be replaced with new ones.
