  • Patent number: 7390039
Abstract: A bumper absorber for protecting pedestrians is formed into a W-shaped cross-sectional configuration, as taken along a direction which is orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the bumper absorber. The W-shaped cross sectional configuration has portions in which a front notch portion, an upper rear notch portion, and a lower rear notch portion overlap with one another in a vertical direction of a vehicle. Ribs are formed respectively at the upper rear notch portion and the lower rear notch portion, and a triangular notch is formed from a vehicle rear side at each of the rib. Further, the ribs 30 are formed at the upper rear notch portion and the lower rear notch portion so as to be separated from each other at predetermined intervals in a longitudinal direction of the bumper absorber, namely, in a transverse direction of the vehicle. With this structure, a rise in impact load acting on a pedestrian who is hit by a bumper can be controlled.

  • Patent number: 7337867
Abstract: A vehicle-pedal backward-displacement preventing device. A pedal bracket has side plates each including a front end at which the pedal bracket is attached to the dash pane. A bulge protrudes in a protruding direction away from the other of the side plates. An operating pedal having a depressible portion is provided by its lower end portion. A guide member is associated with an upper end portion of the pedal bracket and a vehicle body member. The guide member causes the upper end portion of the pedal bracket to be downwardly displaced, upon displacement of the pedal bracket, whereby the pedal bracket is deformed with the side plates being made to buckle, so as to restrain the displacement of the depressible portion of the operating pedal toward a driver's seat. Each side plate has an aperture located in its region which includes a crest portion of the bulge, such that a strength of each side plate against a load is reduced most in the crest portion.

  • Publication number: 20060141210
Abstract: A fixing structure of a rod and a synthetic resin component in which an inserting part (6) of a rod (2) having widened rear side is formed in a synthetic resin component (3) and a stopper (7) projecting obliquely rearward from the inner surface of the inserting part (6) is provided in the rear side thereof in order to solve the problem of a prior art that the rod is not integral with the synthetic resin component fixed to the forward end of the rod. On the other hand, a recess (8) for stopping the forward end of the stopper (7) is formed in the side face at the forward end of the rod (2) and a part (10) for regulating the forward end position of the rod (2) is provided in the rear of the inserting part (6). The position regulating part (10) prevents or extremely minimizes upward fine movement of the synthetic resin component (3) with respect to the rod (2) and the stopper (7) prevents downward fine movement of the synthetic resin component (3) with respect to the rod (2).
