The paper sheet handling machine includes: a paper sheet slot configured to receive and provide a paper sheet; a pair of push plates configured to hold the paper sheet inserted into and discharged from the paper sheet handling machine via the paper sheet slot and apply a pressing force to the paper sheet in a thickness direction thereof; a pair of conveyor assemblies including a first conveyor assembly and a second conveyor assembly configured to hold and convey the paper sheet inserted and discharged via the paper sheet slot; and a moving mechanism configured to move the first conveyor assembly and the second conveyor assembly in mutually approaching directions or in mutually away directions and locate the first conveyor assembly and the second conveyor assembly at any position between inside and outside the pair of push plates, seen from the paper sheet slot.

Abstract: A paper sorting apparatus includes first to fourth gap measuring units to measure gaps between sheets of paper. Using the gaps between the sheets varying between the respective gap measuring units, target gap correction values are stored for respective sort shelves. In accordance with gaps between sheets changed between the first and second gap measuring units, there are predicted gap variations possibly taking place by when the sheets reach the associated sort shelves. Depending on the predicted gap variations, a gap adjuster is controlled to set the gaps to appropriate values at a point where the pertinent sheets reach the associated sort shelves.

Abstract: An overlapped mail detection apparatus and method are disclosed. Since the postcard is shorter than the letter, the change in length is not sometimes detected even when the postcard is displaced. In the case where the exterior of the letter is deformed outward and an overlap is detected from the rise of the tail end of the letter after passing a guide, a thin letter or the like low in rigidity is hard to detect due to the slow rise after deformation in the guide. In view of this, a separator has a bent conveyance path for deforming the exterior of the letter outward. The conveyance surfaces constituting the inner and outer sides of the bent portion of the separator are spaced appropriately from each other. A detector detects the state of the letter surface in the neighborhood of the outer conveyance surface with which the forward end of the letter first comes into contact. An overlap of letters is judged from the result of detection by the detector.

Abstract: The spray booth assembly of this invention is used for washing or chemically treating various kinds of objects in various industrial fields. The assembly is substantially characterized by providing a vacuum zone at or below a hanger path which allows the hangers suspended by the conveyor means to travel in a longitudinal direction in the open-type spray booth while carrying the objects to be sprayed. Whereby, the spray booth assembly can prevent the water or chemical moisture from flowing out through the hanger path toward the hanger conveying means.
