The photocatalyst coated body is characterized in that photocatalyst layer contains 1-20 (inclusive) parts by mass of photocatalyst particles, 30-98 (inclusive) parts by mass of silica particles and 1-50 (inclusive) parts by mass of zirconia particles, so that the total all of these particles is 100 parts by mass. The photocatalyst coated body is also characterized in that the zirconia particles are at least one kind of particles selected from the group consisting of crystalline zirconia particles having an average crystallite diameter of 10 nm or less and amorphous zirconia particles.
