  • Patent number: 9919383
Abstract: A laser machining method includes a first piercing process of forming a non-through piercing hole extending from a top surface to a central portion of a workpiece; a workpiece cooling process; a second piercing process of making the piercing hole pierce to a bottom surface of the workpiece; and a workpiece cutting process. The second piercing process includes performing piercing by irradiating the workpiece with a laser beam while changing the output of the laser beam from a second output value to a third output value, which is smaller than the first output value and larger than the second output value, the focal position from a first in-focus position to a second in-focus position having a larger in-focus amount than the first in-focus position, and the depth of focus from a second depth deeper than a first depth to a third depth deeper than the second depth.

  • Publication number: 20090141746
Abstract: In a solid-state laser device, a single outer casing (1) having an approximately sealed structure is included; a single or a plurality of inner casings (2) are provided inside the outer casing (1); in some or all of the inner casings (2), an air cleaning unit (4) is included in which the air within the outer casing (1) is made clean and supplied into the inner casings (2); inside the outer casing (1), there disposed are a laser light-source (5, 6, 7) having a solid-state laser medium (501) and a light resonator, and an optical system (10, 11, 901) that transmits or interrupts a laser beam (8) emitted from the laser light-source; in addition, the laser light-source (5, 6, 7) and the optical system (10, 11, 901) or part of them are contained inside the inner casings (2); thus, in a simple, compact and inexpensive configuration, it is possible to prevent degradation of optical components and dew condensation thereon, and to stably supply a laser beam.

  • Publication number: 20080225922
Abstract: In a symmetrically stable optical resonator, a first reference plane is set at an arbitrary position between the end face (102), opposing a partial reflector (2), and the neutral point (101) of a rod type solid state laser medium (1), and an aperture (5) having a diameter substantially equal to that of the rod type solid state laser medium (1) is arranged at a position optically symmetric to the reference plane with the partial reflector (2) as a neutral point using a relay lens (6) and a coupling lens (7) arranged between the aperture (5) and an optical fiber (8), the first reference plane is transfer-relayed onto the incident end face of the optical fiber (8), and the aperture (5) is transferred onto the coupling lens (7) through the relay lens (6).

  • Publication number: 20080037603
Abstract: In a rod-type solid laser apparatus, a laser rod 1 is held by a rod holder 5, the rod holder 5 is held in a recessed portion 40 formed in an adjust ring 7, and the adjust ring 7 is mounted on a cavity container 4. The rod holder 5 is pressed against the cavity container 4 by the bottom surface of the recessed portion 40 of the adjust ring 7, and the diameter of the recessed portion 40 is set slightly larger than the outside diameter of the rod holder 5, whereby the rod holder 5 can be moved freely in the radial direction of the recessed portion 40 within the recessed portion 40. On the adjust ring 7, there are radially disposed two adjust screws 8a, 8b and a spring 9 which respectively extend from the side surfaces of the adjust ring 7 into the recessed portion 40 in such a manner that they are contacted with the rod holder 5. The rod holder is pressed and supported by three points, that is, the respective leading ends of the adjust screws 8a, 8b and spring 9.
