  • Patent number: 6113832
Abstract: An improved method for manufacturing a lever for an automotive door checking device and the lever produced by the method. According to the invention, the mold employed for the molding of the sliding part of the lever has a gate at one of the two longitudinal ends of the cavity wall so that the molten resin containing reinforcing fibers flows in and fills up the cavity along the longitudinally extending direction corresponding to the sliding direction of the sliding part. As a result, the reinforcing fibers embedded in the sliding part are one-dimentionally oriented to the sliding direction thereof, which provides anti-wearing property, durability and good sliding characteristics of the lever.

  • Patent number: 5842735
Abstract: A door hinge is provided for a side-door of a vehicle whereby an impact applied to the side door in a direction transverse to the vehicle is absorbed at a connecting portion for connecting the side door to the body of the vehicle. The door hinge is comprised of a female and a male, and a connecting portion is provided uprightly on the male. Bearing portions are provided uprightly on the female, and the connecting portion and the bearing portions rotate relatively to each other with a shaft as a center of rotation. The connecting portion of the male is curved in such a manner as to protrude in the forward direction of the vehicle, and a point of application of a load and a support point in the male are offset from each other in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4534506
Abstract: A radiator grille actuating mechanism for use on an automobile having a body and utilizing an engine coolant, comprises a radiator grille pivotably mounted on the automobile body, a link mechanism operatively connected to said radiator grille and pivotably mounted on the automobile body, an actuator mounted on the automobile body and operatively connected to the link mechanism for moving the radiator grille between open and closed positions through the link mechanism, and means for actuating the actuator to move the radiator grille between the open position and the closed position in response to sensing of a predetermined temperature of the engine coolant. The radiator grille can be brought to the open position when the engine coolant reaches the predetermined temperature, thus allowing a sufficient amount of air to be supplied to the radiator to prevent the engine from being overheated.
