    Abstract: The guide wire includes a core shaft, a coil body with a wire helically wound around the outer periphery of the core shaft, and a coating layer provided on the outer periphery of the coil body. The coating layer has a peak portion protruding in the outer peripheral direction of the guide wire in a swollen state. On a cross-section including a central axis of the coil body, an apex of the peak portion is present at a position on a proximal end side of a first virtual straight line that extends through a central point of a first transverse section of the wire and is perpendicular to the central axis and at a position on a distal end side of a second virtual straight line that extends through a central point of second transverse section of the wire and is perpendicular to the central axis.

    Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a guidewire in which the movement of coils of strand is not inhibited by a hydrophilic coating agent, and flexibility of a coiled body is secured even in a case where its coiled body is coated with the hydrophilic coating agent. The guidewire includes a core shaft, a coiled body including coils of strand wound around an outer circumference of the core shaft, and a hydrophilic coating agent coating at least a part of the coiled body. At least the part of the coiled body is coated with the hydrophilic coating agent so that a gap may be formed between the coils of strand.

    Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a guidewire preventing cracks from being generated at a hydrophilic coating agent and excellent in lubricity by securing flexibility of the hydrophilic coating agent on its surface side even in a case of using the cross-linked hydrophilic coating agent. The guidewire includes a core shaft, a coiled body provided at a tip portion of the core shaft, a most distal portion fixing a front end of the core shaft and a front end of the coiled body, and a hydrophilic coating agent coating the coiled body and the most distal portion and cross-linked by a cross-linking agent. The degree of cross-linking of the hydrophilic coating agent decreases from a side of the coiled body toward a surface side.
