  • Patent number: 7059103
Abstract: Disclosed is a sealing apparatus wherein, as a drum (5) and a rotary base (6) are rotated together, a follower (10a) of a rocking support member (9) rockably provided on the outer periphery of the rotary base (6) is guided along a cam groove (15c) of a cam member (15) to drive the rocking support member (9) to rock. When the rotary drum (5) reaches a predetermined rotational position, an anvil (14) supported by the rocking support member (9) is urged onto a horn (8), and then, when it reaches another rotational position, the anvil (14) is moved away from the horn (8). Since the anvil (14) is driven by the rocking motion of the rocking support member (9), entire operation becomes quite simple, and a continuous soft work can be certainly clamped between the horn (8) and the anvil (14).

  • Patent number: 6923797
Abstract: A disposable undergarment having a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core disposed therebetween. The core is placed in a crotch region and has front and rear end zones and a middle zone. Side portions of a first elastic member extend in the vicinity of front ends of transversely opposite side edge portions of the crotch region while a middle portion of the first elastic member extends across the front end zone. Side portions of a second elastic member extend in the vicinity of rear ends of the edge portions while a middle portion of the second elastic member extends across the rear end zone. The contraction of the first and second elastic members in the middle portions thereof is effectively used to maintain the front and rear end zones of a core in close contact with the wearer's skin.

  • Patent number: 6821271
Abstract: A disposable undergarment includes first, second and third elastic members. The first elastic members have first both side portions extending in a longitudinal direction and a first middle portion extending across a crotch region. A second elastic member has second both side portions and a middle portion extending across the crotch region. The third elastic members have first connecting portions merged into the first both side portions and second connecting portions extending to be merged into the second both side portions. By such an arrangement, tensile stress of the third elastic member can be adequately utilized to keep the undergarment in tight contact with the wearer's thigh.

  • Patent number: 5154714
Abstract: Here is an absorbent panel for body fluid absorptive garments such as a disposable diaper formed from a mixture of at least fibrous or granular liquid-absorptive material and thermoplastic fibers being compressed to a uniform thickness wherein said thermoplastic fibers are welded to each other with a welding density of their cross points to be higher in a crotch zone than in the remaining zone and to provide a tensile strength correspondingly higher in said crotch zone than in said remaining zone.

  • Patent number: 5091039
Abstract: The present invention generally resides in method and apparatus for intermittently applying pieces of elastic band severed into a predetermined length onto a moving continuous web at predetermined positions.

  • Patent number: 4941939
Abstract: A moving web is folded at its predetermined length at its opposite side portions so that the opposite side portions are opposed to each other at a predetermined angle with its central portion. Then part of each of the opposite folded portions is outwardly folded. These foldings occur so that a first folding line and a second folding line being opposed to each other at each side of the web include portions in non-parallel relationship. Elastic bands are affixed onto the web along the second opposite folded portions longitudinally and substantially in parallel to each other. When the web is flattened from the folded condition, the paired elastic band affixed onto the web at its opposite sides each has a diagonal orientation symmetrically with respect to the direction in which the web moves.
