    Abstract: The present invention provides a hybrid vehicle including a first transmission path that transmits a traction of an engine to driving wheels and a second transmission path that transmits a traction of a motor to the driving wheels, and the hybrid vehicle runs by alternatively selecting either the first or second transmission path or in combination thereof. The first transmission path has a first reduction gear ratio that is defined to be smaller than a reduction gear ratio at which a maximum vehicle speed can be achieved by the traction of the engine alone.

    Abstract: A hydraulic controller comprises a structure composed of a separator plate 70 sandwiched between first and second valve bodies 60a and 80a, in which structure, an oil passage 103 connecting a SC shift valve 92 provided upstream and a SC backup valve 94 provided downstream is provided with a choke 75. When the separator plate 70, in which a choke opening 75a is formed, is sandwiched between the first and second valve bodies, the upstream part of the oil passage 103 is in fluid communication with one end of the choke opening 75a while the downstream part of the oil passage 103 is in fluid communication with the other end of the choke opening 75a. In this arrangement, a long narrow room formed by the choke opening 75a sandwiched between the first and second valve bodies comprises the choke 75.

    Abstract: A control apparatus for a belt-type continuously variable transmission that has a drive pulley, a driven pulley, a V-belt trained around the drive and driven pulleys, a drive cylinder for varying the pulley width of the drive pulley, and a driven cylinder for varying the pulley width the said driven pulley. A pressure regulator valve produces pulley control pressures supplied to the drive and driven cylinders and a shift valve distributes the pulley control pressures to the drive and driven cylinders for varying the widths of the drive and driven pulleys for speed ratio control. An electric shift control normally controls the shift valve by electric power supplied to solenoid valves but the electric shift control causes the pressures in both the drive cylinder and said driven cylinder to be equal when the electric power is lost.
