  • Patent number: 7428527
Abstract: Necessary information can be easily extracted from a plurality of databases 11 in which biological substance information is stored. Data is downloaded from the plurality of databases. From the downloaded data is extracted information indicating links between two databases, a detailed description of each data, and sequence data for homology search, which together constitute an index. The thus extracted index 15 is distributed to a user facility, where a user 18 conducts a search using the distributed index.

  • Patent number: 7421424
Abstract: The invention provides information concerning records that cannot be retrieved on a search path among databases when the retrieval of search keys for other related databases and records is carried out in a plurality of databases in a chain-reactive manner. In the course of retrieving search keys and records in a chain-reactive manner up to a terminal database, information for identifying a group of search keys and a group of records retrieved through a series of retrieval processing is outputted in one line or one column of a table. When the record retrieved from a certain database in the chain-reactive search procedure does not contain a search key to be entered into a subsequent database, information for identifying a record that does not contain the search key and information for identifying a database having the record is outputted.

  • Patent number: 7191173
Abstract: A plurality of database search path candidates are automatically determined and provided. Databases containing information with similar characteristics are divided into groups (hereafter referred to as a “category group”), and a correlation diagram is created based on links between those category groups. In the diagram, high priority is given to links between category groups constituting a path that has to be passed through due to relevance between the characteristic of databases, and normal priority is given to other links. When a path search is carried out in this diagram, an important path is selected regardless of attributes such as distance between databases or time by carrying out a first path search along the high priority path between category groups.

  • Patent number: 6818400
Abstract: The present invention aims at producing a biochip by an inkjet system without wasting a DNA solution. A biochip-producing solution is prepared to contain a combination of a DNA solution 6 to be spotted on a plate 5 and a low-cost buffer solution 7 to be remained in the device after the production. The buffer solution 7 used has a different specific gravity from that of the DNA solution 6 and thus is not mixed therewith.

  • Publication number: 20040193588
Abstract: The invention provides information concerning records that cannot be retrieved on a search path among databases when the retrieval of search keys for other related databases and records is carried out in a plurality of databases in a chain-reactive manner. In the course of retrieving search keys 302 and records in a chain-reactive manner up to a terminal database D, information for identifying a group of search keys and a group of records retrieved through a series of retrieval processing is outputted in one line or one column of a table. When the record retrieved from a certain database in the chain-reactive search procedure does not contain a search key to be entered into a subsequent database, information for identifying a record that does not contain the search key and information for identifying a database having the record is outputted.

  • Publication number: 20040193589
Abstract: The frequency of appearance of a keyword is calculated using a first database in which information about a base sequence and an amino acid sequence are stored, and a second database in which text data is stored. A keyword frequency calculation method includes a first text data extraction step for extracting first text data from said first database based on a base sequence or an amino acid sequence inputted by a user; an identifier extraction step for extracting an identifier identifying text data in said first text data from said first text data; a second text data extraction step for extracting second text data from said second database based on said identifier; and an appearance frequency calculation step for sequentially reading keywords from a keyword table containing keywords related to said first database, and for calculating the frequency of appearance of each of said keywords in said second text data.

  • Publication number: 20030170629
Abstract: Determination of PCR products amplified by PCR can be readily and surely conducted even if multiple types of primers are used therein. By using a biochip of a glass slide with primers for the PCR implanted thereon, competitive PCR is performed in one tube with the multiple types of primers, and amplified PCR products are detected by use of the primers on the biochip.

  • Patent number: 6589740
Abstract: The present invention detects and quantities only specific hybridization bindings. A biochip 10 which is spotted with a plurality of probe biopolymers is accommodated in a container 20 into which a washing solution is supplied from a liquid supplying unit 23. A heat block 31 controls the temperature of the biochip according to a predetermined time pattern. A pickup unit 55 picks up an image of the spot surface of the biochip at predetermined pickup intervals. The plurality of images picked up with the pickup unit are stored in a computer 40. By analyzing the images for individual spots, hybridization can be detected with high reliability for every spots without being influenced by optimal hybridization temperatures which differ depending upon the types of probes on the spots.
