  • Patent number: 7852497
Abstract: An object of this invention is to perform optimal printing settings considering the features of the output method of a virtual printer in a system which performs printing processing using a plurality of printers. In a group printer driver UI (12), printing settings are done for items which are common between all printers concerning “redirect on error” printing, and each printer is assigned with the priority of a redirect destination candidate in “redirect on error” printing. A printer driver UI (16) for printing settings unique to a printer designated to the highest priority is displayed in a window together with the display of the group printer driver UI (12).

  • Patent number: 7810040
Abstract: This invention enables storing and managing one document of respective parts as electronic data created by a plurality of applications regardless of the type of application program which creates each part of one document. For this purpose, a plurality of shared folders are set on a network, and attributes in printing are set for the shared folders. A hot folder program supervises the shared folders. When a document image data file scanned by a multifunction apparatus is stored in one of the shared folders, the hot folder program causes an action program to perform a process complying with the attributes set for the shared folder which stores the file, and a bookbinding application to import the file.

  • Patent number: 7795730
Abstract: The invention includes a first step for forming a first conductive layer composed of a high melting point metal to be in contact with an insulating layer; and a second step for forming a second conductive layer by discharging a composition containing a conductive material so as to be in contact with the first conductive layer. The first conductive layer is formed prior to forming the second conductive layer by droplet discharging, and hence, adhesiveness and peel resistance of the second conductive layer are improved. Furthermore, the insulating layer is covered with the first conductive layer, thereby preventing damage or destruction of the insulating layer.

  • Publication number: 20100128293
Abstract: According to this invention, bookbinding data containing pages created by respective applications can be constructed regardless of the type of application. Even when one or more desired pages contained in bookbinding data are selected, image editing is designated, but a non-image page exists in the selected pages, the non-image page can be excluded from editing targets, and the process can shift to image editing. For this purpose, when a plurality of pages are selected and image editing is designated, whether each selected page is an editable image page is determined. An editable page is temporarily stored. After all the selected pages are determined, an image editing application is activated to edit stored editable image pages.

  • Patent number: 7688459
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to create a template for print settings used for printing a document based on an existing document. To achieve the object, the present invention is capable of registering the print settings for a document being currently edited as template information and reading the registered template information as print settings for the document being currently edited or a new document. Thus, in the present invention, the print settings for an existing document can be utilized as print settings for printing a document. More preferably, the contents of a registered template can be edited. More preferably, a document in the present invention has a tree structure with pages as leaves; print settings can be made for each i; and, when a template is registered, the print settings made for the entire tree structure are registered as the template.

  • Patent number: 7622338
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for forming a semiconductor region having a desired shape, and also provides a method for manufacturing a semiconductor device with few variations. Moreover, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a semiconductor device which can reduce the cost with a small number of materials and with high yield. According to the present invention, after a semiconductor film is partially oxidized to form an oxide layer, the semiconductor film is etched using the oxide layer as a mask to form a semiconductor region having a desired shape, and thereafter a semiconductor device using the semiconductor region is manufactured. Thus, a semiconductor region having a desired shape can be formed in a predetermined position without using a known photolithography step using a resist.

  • Patent number: 7603618
Abstract: This invention returns a page image of a scanned document image to a state before an image correction process by only a simple operation, and facilitates bookbinding work. At this time, when backup in the shared folder is set, an original file stored in the shared folder is backed up in a backup folder. If a bookbinding application designates replacement with a desired page, the page is replaced with a page in the backup folder.
