  • Publication number: 20060145122
Abstract: Europium compounds represented by the general formula (1) and water-base ink compositions containing the same: [wherein X is an optionally substituted aromatic or heterocyclic group: Y is a fluorohydrocarbon group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms: Z1 to Z3 are each independently a hydrophilicity-imparting group: R1 to R3 are each a direct bond or a divalent hydrocarbon or heterocyclic group which may be substituted: n1 to n3 are each independently an integer of 0 to 2: and m1 to m3 are each independently an integer of 1 to 3, with the proviso that all of n1to n3must not be 0]. The compounds and the ink compositions are excellent in stability and safety, and emit red light by irradiation with ultraviolet light though they are substantially invisible in the visible light region. Thus, they are useful for prints which are to be read by a system having a sensor reading function with the need for hidden letters or security markings.

  • Patent number: 7034149
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cyan dye mixture, an ink composition containing the mixture and a method of ink-jet recording with the ink composition. The print obtained by the method is characterized by discoloring or fading little even when allowed to stand in a well ventilated shade or in an ozone gas. The cyan dye mixture comprises compounds which are obtained by chlorosulfonating, as a starting material, copper phthalocyanine or a sulfonated copper phthalocyanine and then aminating the chlorosulfonation product with an aminating agent used in an amount of at least 2.5 mol per mol of the starting material, and which are represented by the following formula (1): wherein M represents a proton, alkali metal ion, alkaline earth metal ion, onium ion of an organic amine, or ammonium ion; m is an integer of 1 to 4; and n is an integer of 0 to 3; provided that m+n is an integer of 1 to 4.

  • Patent number: 7001870
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for joining an RE123 oxide superconductor matrix obtained by a melt process by the use of a solder material. The (110) plane of an RE123 oxide superconductor matrix obtained by a melt process is used as the plane to be joined, a solder material composed of an RE123 oxide superconductor having a lower melting point than the above-mentioned RE123 oxide superconductor is interposed between the planes to be joined, and this solder material is melted and then solidified to form a joining layer, thereby joining the matrices. The solder material can be a sinter, a melt-processed material, a powder, a slurry, or a molded powder.

  • Patent number: 6648952
Abstract: The present invention relates to anthrapyridone disulfonic acid represented by Formula (1) as shown below or the salt thereof, a water-based magenta ink composition containing the same, and a method for ink-jet recording by using the same. The compound of the present invention is excellent in water-solubility. The magenta ink composition containing the compound has a good storage stability. The product recorded by the ink-jet recording method appears with a vivid and reproducible hue, and has high light fastness and water fastness.

  • Patent number: 5389486
Abstract: An electrophotographic toner containing a specific compound as the charge control agent is described. The electrophotographic toner according to the present invention have a sharper distribution of the amount of electrification and better moisture resistance and time stability than those of a toner wherein a conventional charge control agent is used. Therefore it can provide an image having a very high gradation and has a very high capability of repeatedly forming an image. Since the charge control agent, as such, is essentially colorless, a colorant can freely be selected according to a hue required of a color toner and the toner is not detrimental to the hue inherent in a dye and a pigment.
