Publication number: 20240017735Abstract: A vehicle outside risk visual recognition guiding apparatus includes an output unit, a vehicle inside detection device, and a processor. The processor acquires the sight-line direction of the driver from the detected information acquired from the vehicle inside detection device. The processor calculates sight-line movement amounts based on the acquired sight-line direction of the driver as a reference. The sight-line movement amounts are each an amount by which the sight line is caused to move to visually recognize any one of warning targets that are risks outside the vehicle. The processor determines a warning order related to the risks outside the vehicle at least based on the sight-line movement amounts. The processor causes the output unit to output the warnings that allow the warning targets that are the risks outside the vehicle to be visually recognized in accordance with the determined warning order.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2023Publication date: January 18, 2024Inventors: Tatsurou YAMASAKI, Junpei TOKIZAKI

Publication number: 20220319203Abstract: A distracted-driving monitoring apparatus for a vehicle includes an imaging device and a determiner. The imaging device is configured to capture an image indicating at least an occupant of the vehicle. The determiner is configured to make a determination on distracted driving of the occupant of the vehicle based on the captured image. The determiner is configured to determine areas in the captured image corresponding to areas that the occupant faces from among divided areas obtained by dividing a viewing range. The viewing range corresponds to a range where the occupant is likely to face while the vehicle is in operation. The determiner is configured to execute determination processing differently for each of the determined areas to make the determination on the distracted driving of the occupant.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 23, 2022Publication date: October 6, 2022Inventors: Keita ONISHI, Masayuki MARUBASHI, Junpei TOKIZAKI, Keiji ASAI, Shinichi MIYAMOTO

Patent number: 11325609Abstract: A vehicle driving assist system includes an imaging device, an alarm, and a controller. The controller includes a facial recognition unit, an occupant determination unit, and a loss determination unit. The facial recognition unit recognizes at least a part of an occupant's face in first captured images acquired from the imaging device. The occupant determination unit determines a driving state of the occupant on the basis of a second captured image in which at least the part of the face is recognizable, and generate a first alert request if the occupant is unable to drive the vehicle. The loss determination unit generates a second alert request if a third captured image in which at least the part of the face is unrecognizable occurs two or more times. The alarm outputs an alert to the occupant on the basis of the first and second alert requests.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2020Date of Patent: May 10, 2022Assignee: SUBARU CORPORATIONInventors: Ryota Nakamura, Masayuki Marubashi, Junpei Tokizaki

Patent number: 11305714Abstract: A vehicle occupant protection system includes an imaging device, an occupant monitoring apparatus, and an occupant protection apparatus. The imaging device is configured to capture an image of an occupant riding in a vehicle. The occupant monitoring apparatus is configured to monitor the occupant on the basis of the captured image outputted from the imaging device, and configured to, in a case where a riding state of the occupant in the vehicle is undeterminable on the basis of the captured image outputted from the imaging device, switch an imaging range of the captured image to be outputted from the imaging device. The occupant protection apparatus is configured to execute, on the basis of the monitoring by the occupant monitoring apparatus, protection control that is based on the occupant riding in the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2020Date of Patent: April 19, 2022Assignee: SUBARU CORPORATIONInventors: Junpei Tokizaki, Ryota Nakamura

Patent number: 11203317Abstract: A vehicle with an occupant protection function includes an occupant protection device and an occupant monitoring device. The occupant protection device is provided in the vehicle and configured to perform protection operation of supporting, with a seatbelt, an occupant in the vehicle upon collision of the vehicle. The occupant monitoring device is provided in the vehicle and configured to monitor the occupant in the vehicle. The occupant monitoring device is configured to determine whether the occupant in the vehicle is aware of the collision of the vehicle. The occupant protection device is configured to, in a case where the occupant monitoring device determines that the occupant is unaware of the collision of the vehicle, increase tension of the seatbelt gradually as compared with a case where the occupant monitoring device determines that the occupant is aware of the collision.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2020Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: SUBARU CORPORATIONInventors: Ryota Nakamura, Junpei Tokizaki, Masayuki Marubashi, Keita Onishi
