  • Patent number: 6521822
Abstract: In an electronic device having a solar cell and a unit driven by a power generated by the solar cell, the solar cell 10 includes a transparent substrate 12; a plurality of conductive portions 14a to 14d provided around the transparent substrate 12 and connected in series; and a plurality of photocells 18, each having a thin-line shape, formed at proper intervals on the transparent substrate 12 and connected to the conductive portions 14a to 14d. By forming a transparent electrode film 80 on the transparent substrate 12 and by connecting the transparent electrode film 80 to the ground, an adverse influence of static electricity is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6310836
Abstract: The present invention provides a timepiece having a light-receptive/emitting device such as a solar cell and an EL device in which a parting portion can be set freely and the timepiece can be adapted to various design requests. The timepiece has a dial for displaying a time, a timepiece movement incorporating driving units, a light-receptive/emitting device provided between the timepiece movement and the dial, and an armoring member for housing the timepiece movement, in which a portion or a whole of the dial is formed to have a light-transmitting property so as to supply outside light to the light-receptive/emitting device or to allow the light-receptive/emitting device to emit light to an outside, the light-receptive/emitting device is fixed to one side of the timepiece movement, and the dial is mounted to the armoring member by engaging a first portion formed at the dial with a second portion formed at the armoring member.

  • Patent number: 5557587
Abstract: A slit pipe which is compressible in a radial direction thereof is attached to a watch case between a pair of leg portions. A groove is formed in a link of a watch band so as to be engaged with the slit pipe. The groove has an opening formed on the underside of the link, an introducing portion communicating with the opening, a groove portion formed at an innermost end of the groove. The opening has a width smaller than an outer diameter of the pipe, and larger than an outer diameter of the pipe when compressed. The groove portion has an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the pipe. Thus, the pipe may be inserted in the groove portion from the opening passing through the introducing portion.

  • Patent number: 5485659
Abstract: A buckle for watch bands has a cover (1), a guide housing (15) secured to an inside of the cover, the guide housing having a pair of push plates (19) each of which has an engaging projection (21) and springs. A middle plate (16) and a tongue (6) are rotatably connected to an end of the cover, and a bottom plate (18) having a band connecting portion and an engaging lug (23) is rotatably connected to the middle plate. A band is connected to the band connecting portion of the bottom plate. Another band having adjusting holes is inserted into a space between the cover (1) and the housing (15) and the tongue (6) is inserted into the adjusting hole so as to adjust the length of the band.
