In the method provided in embodiments of this application, a mobile phone may divide a card into two partitions: a left partition and a right partition. When there are a plurality of ongoing tasks in an application corresponding to the card, the two partitions may separately display different tasks, and sizes of the left and right partitions are adjusted according to a preset rule, to display more information.

If the electronic device detects that the user drags the icon or the card of the another application to the display region and hovers for time longer than a period of time, the electronic device adds the card of the another application to the display region.

Abstract: This application provides a floating ball processing method in a multitasking scenario and an electronic device. The method may be applied to electronic devices such as mobile phones and tablet computers. When a preset condition is met, the electronic device can display a floating ball matching the preset condition. The electronic device can display a plurality of floating balls meeting preset conditions, to avoid a case that floating balls generated later crowd floating balls generated earlier, consequently affecting the user experience. In addition, the electronic device can set personalized floating ball display rules according to the time validity characteristics of different floating ball services. For a plurality of floating balls displayed simultaneously, the electronic device can also set a combination display rule for combined display of floating balls, to avoid blocking to the foreground application due to an excessively large quantity of floating balls.
