Abstract: An electronic device is configured to receive at least one advertisement (ADV) packet from an external electronic device using the wireless communication circuit. The electronic device is configured to determine whether to upload identification information of the first external electronic device based on at least one of information of a channel through which the at least one ADV packet is received or information of the external electronic device included in the at least one ADV packet. The electronic device is configured to transmit the identification information of the external electronic device and location information of the electronic device to an external server device, in response to a determination to upload the identification information. In addition to the above, various embodiments identified through the disclosure are possible.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and electronic devices configured to transmit, at a first period, a first-type advertisement (ADV) packet to a first external electronic device using the wireless communication circuit; determine that the electronic device is missing based on location information of the electronic device if a first response signal for the first-type ADV packet is not received from the first external electronic device; in response to determining that the electronic device is missing, transmit, at a second period, a second-type ADV packet to a nearby external electronic device using the wireless communication circuit; receive a second response signal for the second-type ADV packet from a second external electronic device; and transmit, to the second external electronic device, a signal including information of the electronic device based on reception of the second response signal.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a communication circuit, a memory, and a processor operatively connected to the communication circuit and the memory. The processor can be configured to: transmit, through the communication circuit, an advertisement packet having a first attribute; check, on the basis of identification information stored in the memory, whether a scan request packet is received from an external electronic device corresponding to the identification information; and transmit, through the communication circuit, an advertisement packet having a second attribute including loss notification information, if the scan request packet is not received from the external electronic device.

Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic device including a communication module, a processor and a memory that stores instructions. The instructions, when executed, cause the processor to receive a first signal from a first external electronic device through the communication module while a communication connection to at least one second external electronic device is being established, select a specified number of third external electronic devices or less from among the first external electronic device and the at least one second external electronic device based on the first signal, and transmit data to or receive data from the selected third external electronic devices through established communication connections to the selected third external electronic devices. The third external electronic devices are selected in order of having a weak signal intensity or a greater distance from the electronic device from among the first external electronic device and the at least one second external electronic device.
