    Abstract: A non-aqueous rechargeable battery includes an electrode body, a non-aqueous electrolyte solution, and a battery case. The electrode body includes a negative electrode plate, a positive electrode plate, and a separator arranged between the negative and positive electrode plates. The battery case accommodates the electrode body and the non-aqueous electrolyte solution. The positive electrode plate includes a positive electrode substrate and a positive electrode mixture layer arranged on the positive electrode substrate. The positive electrode mixture layer is formed by applying a positive electrode mixture paste, containing at least a positive electrode active material and an organic solvent, to the positive electrode substrate and drying the positive electrode mixture paste so that the organic solvent remains in the positive electrode mixture layer.

    Abstract: A lithium-ion battery includes a roll formed by rolling a stack of a negative electrode plate, separator, and positive electrode plate in a rolling direction into a flattened form. A negative electrode collector portion formed at one roll end where the negative electrode mixture layer is not applied to two opposite surfaces of the negative electrode substrate layer has an undulated form. The negative electrode substrate layer has two opposite surfaces that are less the negative electrode mixture layer at the end of the roll. A positive electrode collector portion formed at the other roll end where the positive electrode mixture layer is not applied to two opposite surfaces of the positive electrode substrate layer has an undulated form. The positive electrode substrate layer has two opposite surfaces that are less the positive electrode mixture layer at the other roll end.

    Abstract: A non-aqueous battery electrode plate including a collector and an electrode composite material layer located on the collector. The electrode composite material layer includes first particles containing an active material and second particles that are smaller than the first particles and formed from a water-repellent material. The first particles and the second particles are mixed in a thickness-wise direction of the electrode layer. The electrode composite material layer further includes a region in which the second particles are concentrated. The region includes a surface of the electrode composite material layer at a side opposite to the collector.
