  • Publication number: 20050052987
Abstract: A texture processing for imparting a magnetic orientation in the circumferential direction is applied to a substrate so as to impart a magnetic anisotropy to the magnetic disk in the circumferential direction. An underlying film, a magnetic recording film, a protective film, and a lubricating film are laminated one upon the other on the surface of the substrate. The surface of the magnetic disk has a value of the contact ratio [BH 1.0 nm] falling within a range of 7% to 15% in a region having a height not smaller than 1.0 nm, based on the height at which the contact ratio in the bearing curve of a surface roughness is 50%.

  • Publication number: 20030157374
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for inspecting deposition characteristics of a deposit on the surface of a protective film predominantly containing carbon of a magnetic recording medium, which medium includes a disk and the protective film formed on the disk, the disk including a non-magnetic substrate, a non-magnetic undercoat layer, and a magnetic layer, the layers being formed on the substrate, wherein the method includes comparing a predetermined threshold with the extraction amount of an inspection gas component and/or a compound component formed so as to contain the inspection gas component, the gas component and/or the compound component being extracted with an inspection solvent after the magnetic recording medium is allowed to stand in an atmosphere of the inspection gas component; a process for producing a magnetic recording medium in which the extraction amount is equal to or greater than the threshold, the extraction amount being obtained through the inspection method; and a magnetic recor

  • Patent number: 5783251
Abstract: An antistatic agent comprising a water-soluble electroconductive polymer comprising at least a repeating unit having a sulfo group-containing isothianaphthenylene structure; a method for suppressing electrification of an article during the production or use of the article by forming an electroconductive film comprising the water-soluble electroconductive polymer on the article; an article of which electrification is suppressed by having an electroconductive film comprising the water-soluble conductive polymer on the article; and a method for observing or inspecting an article with suppressing electrification thereof during irradiation with charged particle beams by forming an electroconductive film comprising the water-soluble electroconductive polymer on the article. The electroconductive film retains the electrification-suppressing effect and removability stably even when subjected to a heat treatment or left to stand for a long period of time.
