Abstract: In a time period from the time point where the forward end of a paper sheet fed from a pair of paper separation rollers reaches a registration roller to the time point, where the registration roller is driven, when the load torque exerted on a forward roller is not less than second regulated torque, the transmission of power to the forward roller is released by a torque limiter provided for the forward roller. In this case, therefore, the force of paper feeding produced by the pair of paper separation rollers is regulated. Consequently, a suitable force of paper feeding can be applied to the paper sheet, thereby to make it possible to regulate the paper sheet straight in the direction of paper feeding as well as to prevent the paper sheet from continuing to be fed even if the amount of deflection of the paper sheet is saturated between the pair of paper separation rollers and the registration roller to prevent the paper sheet from being wrinkled.

Abstract: A paper-discharge tray for an image-forming apparatus is adapted to hold paper discharged by a paper-discharging device arranged downstream of a fixing device in the image-forming apparatus. The free end of the paper-discharge tray is adapted to be bent in the direction in which the paper will curl when it passes through the fixing device, such that the paper can be stably stacked even when it curls during the fixing process.

Abstract: A paper delivery apparatus for delivering paper to a predetermined place by driving a roller support shaft with a the paper coming in contact with roller attached to the roller support shaft. The roller support shaft and the drive shaft are connected to each other between a pair of lateral plates. Bearings are attached to the roller support shaft at both ends thereof and are axially movably supported by bearing support members. The roller support shaft together with the bearings may be readily removed from the bearing support members by moving the roller support shaft or the bearings in the axial direction.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus in accordance with the invention includes a body for the device that performs an image forming operation, and a receiving device provided on a rear part of the body, for receiving a paper feeding member. The receiving device includes a guide member which supports the paper feeding member and shifts between a first position where the paper feeding member is in a sharply inclined position, and a second position where the paper feeding member is held in a lowered position. The guide member is designed to shift in response to feeding member insertion, attachment and removal operations such that forces are provided to aid in performing these operations.
