  • Patent number: 8395807
Abstract: An image scanner might capture an image corresponding to scan region 263 which might be somewhat larger than original 262. Image processing circuitry might then enlarge an image corresponding to scan region 263 (arrow 279), converting it into enlarged image 271. Within enlarged image 271, the image of original 262 might have been enlarged so as to become image 273, which might be somewhat larger than printing paper 272. This enlarged original image 273 which would be present within enlarged image 271 might then be printed by a printer. Four-sided borderless copying is possible.

  • Patent number: 7859688
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a command data conversion device and printing apparatus that can correctly interpret print command data even where the codes or the parameter codes assigned to the commands in the print command data change, or where the data output sequence changes. Using the present invention, print command data including commands used in print control as well as associated data are received, and the contents thereof are interpreted. Multiple commands are rewritably stored in command registers in advance, and if a command included in the print command data matches any of the stored multiple commands, prescribed processing is carried out to at least one of either the command or its associated data.

  • Patent number: 7532360
Abstract: The image output apparatus of the invention includes a main unit group of multiple main units connected in series to perform preset series of image processing and a pass unit group of multiple pass units connected in series to be parallel with the multiple main units. The averaged data of the tone values of four pixels generated by a black/white edge processing unit are sequentially transferred through the main unit group. The standard edge data and the noise data generated by a color conversion unit are sequentially transferred through the pass unit group, synchronously with the transfer of the averaged data through the main unit group. The data transferred through the pass unit group enters an inner-block smoothing unit to go through the smoothing process. The image output apparatus of the invention has the hardware configuration that allows flexible design change according to the required series of image processing.

  • Patent number: 7463370
Abstract: A recording apparatus, and so forth, capable of outputting at high speed is provided. Second recording data that are stored in a memory based on data obtained by a data obtaining section are transferred to a data generator via a second transfer path, and based on the second recording data that have been transferred, the data generator generates first recording data for performing recording on a medium.

  • Publication number: 20080239351
Abstract: A circuit structure has multiple comparator circuits connected in series. Each comparator circuit compares an input tone value with a medium value of table data input from a preceding comparator circuit. When the tone value is greater than the medium value, the comparator circuit selects table data of greater than the medium value and outputs the selected table data to a subsequent comparator circuit. In this state, the comparator circuit outputs a value ‘1’ as a resulting bit representing a result of the comparison. When the tone value is not greater than the medium value, on the other hand, the comparator circuit selects table data of not greater than the medium value and outputs the selected table data to the subsequent comparator circuit. In this state, the comparator circuit outputs a value ‘0’ as the resulting bit. The circuit structure arrays the resulting bits output from the respective comparator circuits in an output order from its upper bit position and outputs the array of the resulting bits.
