  • Publication number: 20240107534
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) or a base station may be configured to indicate that a transmission occasion is empty while operating in a full-duplex mode. In some examples, the UE may transmit, to the base station, an indication that an uplink transmission occasion (for example, a configured grant transmission occasion) will not be used by the UE for transmitting an uplink communication. In some other examples, the base station may transmit, to the UE, an indication a downlink transmission occasion (for example, semi-persistent scheduling transmission occasion) will not be used by the base station for transmitting a downlink communication. If uplink or downlink transmission occasions are empty, the UE and the base station may each update parameters to operate in a half-duplex mode.

  • Publication number: 20240107571
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Wireless communications systems may support communications between various network nodes via repeaters to extend coverage to areas that may be otherwise uncovered. A repeater may forward a signal using a circular polarization type. A receiving network node may receive a signal transmitted with a circular polarization type using a linear antenna configuration without a risk of the signal being orthogonal to the linear antenna configuration, and therefore not received by the receiving network node. A repeater may report, to a control entity, a capability of the repeater to forward signals using a set of one or more polarization types (e.g., including at least one circular polarization type), and in response the repeater may receive scheduling information indicating for the repeater to forward a signal in a given communication resource using a particular polarization type (e.g., a particular circular polarization type).

  • Patent number: 11943176
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A repeater extends coverage of wireless communications services between two wireless nodes (a base station and a user equipment (UE)). A network control node (e.g., a base station) receives a first indication of a capability of a repeater to detect a time division duplexing (TDD) pattern of a channel between the base station and the UE. The base station transmits, to the UE and via the repeater, one or more parameters associated with the UE performing one or more channel measurements and reference signals for the channel measurements. The base station transmits, to the repeater, a second indication of a TDD pattern of the channel based on the capability of the repeater. Based on the indication of the TDD pattern, the repeater adjusts one or more radio frequency components of the repeater.

A network node may transmit, to a plurality of user equipment (UE), a set of network encoded packets generated using a set of packets. A UE of the plurality of UEs may receive a subset of the set of encoded packets and may decode the subset to determine a first set of decoded packets. The UE may receive a second set of decoded packets from the plurality of UEs. The UE may transmit feedback to the network node that indicates the successfully decoded packets of the first and second sets. The network node may receive the feedback and may determine a subset of the set of packets that was successfully decoded for each UE providing the feedback. The network node may transmit an updated set of network encoded packets to the plurality of UEs.

  • Publication number: 20240097776
Abstract: Method and apparatus for dynamic polarization combining. The apparatus identifies a first polarization of a first set of antenna elements on a first side of an antenna module having two or more sides. The apparatus identifies a second polarization of a second set of antenna elements on a second side of the antenna module. The apparatus determines, for an antenna layer, a dynamic polarization combination between the first set of antenna elements having the first polarization with the second set of antenna elements having the second polarization. The apparatus communicates with a network node via the antenna module based on the dynamic polarization combination.
