  • Publication number: 20060162599
Abstract: A method of feeding appropriate dampening water in an offset printing press, comprising the steps of detecting the viscosity of dampening water at room temperature, selectively adding at least two of water and a surface active agent to the dampening water so that the viscosity of the dampening water becomes a target value, and feeding the dampening water having the target viscosity to the offset printing press at the room temperature, whereby since the viscosity of the dampening water (13) can be brought near into the target value suitable for printing by adding water or the surface active agent to the dampening water (13), the dampening water (13) can be fed at the room temperature without heating or cooling the dampening water.

  • Publication number: 20060096121
Abstract: In an web offset press an ink adhering on a surface of a printed paper is dried during passing through a drying section of an ink drying device. The drying section is provided with an inlet through which the printed paper is guided into the drying section and an outlet through which the printed paper is discharged therefrom. The ink drying device includes a hot air supply unit for supplying a hot air to a portion near the outlet of the drying section, and a hot air blow-back unit for blowing back a solvent vapor remaining and staying around the printed paper surface into the drying section.

  • Patent number: 4772003
Abstract: An apparatus for stacking signatures or the like includes a guide plate having a predetermined angle of inclination and a conveyor for successively loading signatures onto the upper end of the guide plate from the upper side of the latter. The foremost end of a stack of signatures which are being stacked on the guide plate is supported by a first support member which gradually lowers through a section from the signature loading position to an intermediary position, and is then supported by a second support member through a section from the intermediary position to an unloading position. The rearmost end of the stack of signatures is supported by a third support member through the entire section from the loading position to the unloading position. For this purpose, the first, second and third support members are repeatedly moved along the guide plate in relation to each other.
