Abstract: A process and apparatus for storing stackable, sheet-like blanks delivered individually one after the other, in particular for packaging. The individual blanks are fed to an intermediate store which comprises a stack of the blanks, and the blanks are withdrawn from the intermediate store by a conveying device as an essentially continuously blank stream. The withdrawn blanks are then wound onto a rotationally driven winding core to form a wound roll of the blanks.

Abstract: A method and device for unwinding from a roll (1) the scaled formation of printed products wound onto a winding core (11) with a winding tape (12). The braking of the rotation of the roll (1) necessary for maintaining the tension on the winding tape during unwinding, is produced by pressing one face of the roll (1) against an inclined supporting surface (1) by means of a component (N) of the roll weight, causing friction between the face of the roll and the supporting surface (10) which friction brakes the rotation of the roll.

Abstract: Sample bags are produced from webs of film material by forming longitudinal seams and longitudinally spaced transverse seams and by filling the bags with a sample product between forming the transverse seams. In order to make the bags easier to handle, the longitudinal seams are thickened so that the thickness of the seams is equal to the thickness of the center of the bag. Thickening is done by rolling or folding the seams or by adding frames or strips of additional material either between or outside the seam portions of the webs. The resulting bags are more easily stacked, handled and inserted into publications for distribution.

Abstract: A method and a device for packing continuously conveyed printed products being conveyed one of individually and in groups by enveloping a product insert with a packing element. The product insert includes one of a single product, a plurality of products supplied in succession and a group of products. A plurality of substantially V-shaped insertion compartments being continuously conveyed in a compartment conveying direction along a closed conveying path are provided, together with a plurality of prefolded packing elements each having a fold in a substantially continuously conveyed stream of packing elements. A respective packing element is successively introduced into each insertion compartment such that the fold of the respective packing element is introduced into a corresponding insertion compartment first. It is then ensured that each respective packing element is in an open position thereby providing open packing elements. Thereafter, a product insert is inserted into each open packing element.
