Publication number: 20090230732Abstract: A vehicle roof contains a first movable roof part, a guide device for displacing the first roof part relative to a second roof part for optionally at least partially opening and closing a roof opening. The guide device contains first and second lateral guide rails of a lateral guide and at least one third guide rail of a central guide, in which the first roof part is guided with front and rear slide bearings adjacent to its front and rear edges. In order to be able to increase further the comfort in a motor vehicle, it is provided that the front slide bearings are guided in the first and second guide rails of the lateral guide and the rear slide bearing is guided in the central guide.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 16, 2009Publication date: September 17, 2009Applicant: DR. Patent number: 5797183Abstract: An apparatus for catalytically decontaminating exhaust gases, preferably for motor vehicle engines, includes a metal carrier body having a plurality of corrugated, or smooth and corrugated, sheet metal layers. The sheet metal layers have smooth end segments overlapping one another and being disposed as an outer layer on the periphery of the metal carrier body. A jacket encompasses the metal carrier body. At least one weld seam may simultaneously connect the smooth end segments to one another and to the jacket. A mechanical retaining device may form-lockingly secure the metal carrier body in the axial direction in the jacket while engaging an end surface of the outer layer.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1996Date of Patent: August 25, 1998Assignee: Emitec Gesellschaft fuer Emissionstechnologie mbHInventors: Bohumil Humpolik, Jurgen Bayer

Patent number: 5641196Abstract: A roof construction includes a movable roof section which, after being lowered, can be displaced under a fixed roof section. Viewed in the forward driving direction, a protective and covering strip is provided on the rear edge of the movable roof section. This protective and covering strip covers the connection area between the two roof sections on the one hand and, on the other hand, covers a gap which is formed when the movable roof section is lowered.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 1995Date of Patent: June 24, 1997Assignee: Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Porsche AGInventors: Bodo Homann, Jurgen Bayer, Harry Nennemann

Patent number: 5544934Abstract: A passenger car body includes a removable top constructed as a roof which covers a passenger compartment above a belt line of the body. So that the occupants have particularly good viewing conditions while the venting of the passenger compartment is good, the removable top has roof frames which bound the side windows and between which--viewed in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle--there extend several transparent roof sections.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1994Date of Patent: August 13, 1996Assignee: Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Patent number: 5514348Abstract: A plated steel sheet for producing housings or tubes or the like includes a foundation material forming a middle layer having first and second sides. A coating of an austenitic special steel is disposed on the first side. A coating of a ferritic special steel is disposed on the second side. In a housing for a catalytic converter being made of the plated steel sheet, the second side having the coating of ferritic special steel forms an inner surface of the housing.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 1994Date of Patent: May 7, 1996Assignee: Emitec Gesellschaft fuer Emissionstechnologie mbHInventors: Jurgen Bayer, Klaus Haller

Patent number: 5242101Abstract: Catalytic converter carrier bodies have a jacket and adjacent layers of corrugated or smooth and corrugated metal foils wound or layered in the jacket. The metal foils contact each other and contact the jacket at connecting points, defining flow channels between the metal foils and between the metal foils and the jacket and defining brazing gaps at the connecting points. A method for brazing the carrier bodies includes initially dispersing powdered brazing material with a suitable particle size in a mixture of binder material and liquid. The flow channels are flooded with the liquid mixture for depositing the brazing material in at least some of the brazing gaps. Excess mixture is subsequently removed from the flow channels and the carrier body is then brazed.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1992Date of Patent: September 7, 1993Assignee: Emitec Gesellschaft fuer EmissionstechnologieInventors: Reinhold Kuchelmeister, Bohumil Humpolik, Jurgen Bayer, Klaus Haller

Patent number: 4576223Abstract: The invention concerns a heat exchanger comprising a heat exchanger block having a plurality of tubes and fins arranged transversely to the tubes, at least one tube plate and a water tank, both made of a synthetic plastic material. The tube plate has orifices to receive the ends of the tubes and the water tank is fastened in a water tight manner to the tube plate. In order to obtain a simple and reliable joint of the heat exchanger tubes with the tube plate and the water tank with the tube plate, the plastic tube plate is provided on one side with projections. The orifices are located in these projections and the ends of the tubes are mounted in these orifices by expansion in the radial direction or impression in the axial direction. Both the tube plate and the water tank are equipped with flat surfaces at their edges. These surfaces rest on each other and the tube plate is joined with the water tank by vibration welding on these surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1983Date of Patent: March 18, 1986Assignee: Sueddeutsche Kuehlerfabrik Julius Fr.
