  • Publication number: 20050194726
Abstract: An air spring comprising a rolling piston, a bellows with a rolling fold which can be rolled on the wall of the rolling piston, and at least one flat sensor element that can be actuated by the rolling movement of the bellows, and that generates a height-dependent signal. The sensor element is integrated into the wall of the rolling piston or is disposed on the side of the wall that faces the hollow space of the rolling piston.

  • Publication number: 20040124571
Abstract: Gas spring damper units have flow limiting valves, which are either constant flow drillings or spring loaded non-return valves. Said solutions either do not permit a damping behavior which is dependent upon the direction of displacement or are too complicated and expensive. According to the Invention, the flow limiting valves (15) thus each have a different flow resistance depending upon the direction of flow and the flow resistance of each flow limiting valve (15) is set in at least one direction such that the critical Reynolds number for the transition from laminar flow to turbulent flow lies within the pressure difference across the flow limiting valve (15) as determined by the possible piston speeds.

  • Patent number: 6371457
Abstract: This invention concerns a pneumatic spring consisting of a hose roll bellows of elastomer material which is equipped, in particular, with stiffening supports. The ends of the hose roll bellows are pushed onto a connecting element and attached there by a radially ductile clamping ring particularly made out of metal. According to the invention, the connecting element and/or clamping ring are made thicker with a covering elastomer strip in the area of clamping. The elastomer strip is a component which is separate from the hose roll bellows. Several variants are presented.

  • Patent number: 6227527
Abstract: A pneumatic suspension system forming a McPherson strut has a pneumatic suspension pot with an integrated strut bearing, pneumatic suspension bellows made of an elastomer material, a pneumatic suspension piston, an outer guide and a damping device. The essential features of the system are: the pneumatic suspension bellows have an inclined loop whose effective diameter defined by the top and bottom extremes of the loop is substantially perpendicular to the force application line. The outer surface of the pneumatic suspension piston has cylindrical and conical parts which form a rolling contour which is not rotationally symmetrical with respect to the damping axis and which is adapted to the effective diameter of the inclined loop of the pneumatic suspension bellows in that the effective diameter is substantially parallel to the preferably rounded edges of the rolling contour. The outer guide completely surrounds the inclined loop of the pneumatic suspension bellows during both rebound and spring deflection.
