  • Patent number: 6817259
Abstract: In a rack-and-pinion steering gear for motor vehicles, in which in a steering gear housing a pressure piece is guided within a stub having an axis normal to that of the steering-gear housing so that the pressure piece is longitudinally displaceable in the guide stub. A preloading force acts on the pressure piece at an angle to the direction of motion of the pressure piece such that the pressure piece is held in engagement with a side wall of the stub in either direction of movement of the rack.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 18, 2002
Date of Patent: November 16, 2004
    Assignee: DaimlerChrysler AG

  • Patent number: 6352016
Abstract: A hydraulic power steering system, in which the servomotor also acts as a steering damper. Damper valves are arranged on hydraulic lines between the servomotor and servo valve. In order to compensate the temperature-dependent viscosity of the hydraulic medium, throttle elements of the damper valves cooperate with spring arrangements operating as a function of temperature (bimetallic springs, springs consisting of form memory alloy).

  • Patent number: 5603391
Abstract: The invention relates to a damper valve for use on a coupler for hydraulic lines, in particular those which connect a hydraulically actuated servomotor of a servo control to a servo valve. According to the invention, all the elements having a damping effect are arranged captively in the coupler.

  • Patent number: 5209261
Abstract: A slide valve, having a pump port, a reservoir port and at least one consumer port is described, which comprises a slide which is spring-loaded into a first position and can be moved into a second position counter to the spring force by means of an adjusting assembly. At least one of the consumer ports is connected to the reservoir port in the first slide position and to the pump port in the second slide position. Arranged between the adjusting assembly and the slide is a seat-controlled safety valve which, in the closed position, shuts off the adjacent open end of a longitudinal duct formed in the slide which, on the one hand, is connected to the consumer port and, on the other hand, to the reservoir port via the opened safety valve when the slide is possibly blocked and not loaded by the adjusting assembly. The longitudinal duct is closed off at the other end by an additional pressure relief valve which limits the pressure in the longitudinal duct with the safety valve usually being closed.
