  • Publication number: 20180320576
Abstract: A method is provided for monitoring a chemical agent concentration in a chemical solution stored in a tank of a system of a motor vehicle. The system includes a pump driven by a motor where the pressure of the pump is controlled by a controller. The method includes measuring a plurality of values characteristic of the energy transmitted by the motor to the pump for a corresponding plurality of pump pressure values; determining at least one parameter of a relationship between the energy transmitted by the motor to the pump and applied pump pressure values from the plurality of measured values and the corresponding plurality of pump pressure value; and comparing the at least one parameter to predetermined reference parameters.

  • Publication number: 20180306754
Abstract: A method of determining one physicochemical parameter of a chemical agent in a fluid is provided the method comprising the steps of: providing a pressurized fluid of said chemical agent upstream of a dosing unit in a line; changing the opening condition of said dosing unit at a determinable time to to provide a dosing of said fluid or a change in the dosing of said fluid; determining the time, tp, at which the pressure wave in said line resulting from the pressure drop upon changing the opening condition of said dosing unit is detected at a known distance, d, from said dosing unit; determining the velocity of wave propagation from said time interval tp?to and said known distance, d; and deriving the physicochemical parameter of said chemical agent from said velocity of wave propagation. The invention also pertains to a system for determining the physicochemical parameter of a chemical agent in a fluid, operating according to the same method.

  • Patent number: 9855839
Abstract: A method for controlling a pressure inside a fuel tank system including a fuel tank and a controllable pressure relief valve. The method includes assessing whether a predetermined vapor expulsion risk is present, the predetermined vapor expulsion risk pertaining to a vapor expulsion from a main volume of the tank into a space accessible to an operator; if said risk is present, operating the pressure relief valve in accordance with a first pressure threshold, if the risk is not present, operating the pressure relief valve in accordance with a second pressure threshold which is higher than the first pressure threshold.

  • Patent number: 9834430
Abstract: A method for controlling a filling operation of a vehicular liquid storage system including a tank equipped with a filler pipe and a shut-off valve, the method including detecting the start of a refilling event; while the shut-off valve is open, observing whether a measured fill level of the tank has reached a predetermined fill level; if the predetermined fill level has been reached, performing the following steps: closing the shut-off valve to induce a shut-off of a filling nozzle; when a first pressure criterion is met, opening the shut-off valve; and when a second pressure criterion is met, closing the shut-off valve. The second pressure criterion includes a decrease of pressure inside the tank below a predetermined pressure level.
