  • Patent number: 6303069
Abstract: A process for the production of moldings from a polymer alloy of multiphase morphology, in which the polymer alloy is prepared with the injection molding in one process step. For this, thermoplastically processable polymers which are incompatible or not very compatible with one another are introduced as granules, preferably having a particle size of greater than or equal to 3 mm, into the hopper of an injection molding machine and are subsequently plasticized, mixed thoroughly, and shaped in the injection molding machine; where at least one of the polymers employed is capable chemically, under the injection molding conditions, of association and/or copolymerization with at least one other of the participating polymers. The resulting polymer alloys are not inferior in their properties to corresponding conventionally produced alloys. The moldings are useful in orthopedics.

  • Patent number: 5686176
Abstract: A plain bearing material includes a matrix of thermoplastic polymer which contains as inclusions additives improving antifriction properties. In the matrix are contained as additives PTFE and chalk, both PTFE and chalk being in the form of a powder. A composite multilayer material with such a plain bearing material includes a metallic backing on which a rough base is sintered or sprayed on. On this rough base is deposited the bearing metal material with a matrix material in which are included the additives.

  • Patent number: 4779412
Abstract: In a power generation process using a gas turbine for conversion of the energy of gas which is produced by the gasification of a fossil carbon-bearing material such as brown coal, the gas is initially cleaned of dust and optionally desulfurised in the hot condition. The gas is then passed to a combustion chamber in which the temperature of the gas is increased by partial reaction of the gas with air and/or oxygen to a temperature of from 1000.degree. to 1500.degree. before the gas is passed through a catalytic fixed bed reactor arranged upstream of the gas turbine combustion chamber. The combustion chamber in which the gas temperature is increased, the fixed bed reactor and the gas turbine combustion chamber may be combined. The fixed bed reactor contains a nickel-bearing catalyst which, at elevated temperatures, is resistant to ageing and resistant to sulfur and compounds thereof.
