  • Patent number: 6085652
Abstract: An ink fountain with an ink-duct roller in the inking mechanism of printing presses, with a device for filling printing ink into the ink fountain, is described. The device for filling ink is mounted on a sled so that it can be moved back and forth in the longitudinal direction of the ink fountain. A sensor is fastened to the sled, and when the ink level is too low, the sensor controls the ink feed. Thereby, a precise regulation of the amount of ink added can be achieved by means of a downstream dosing device.

  • Patent number: 5809881
Abstract: A printing-machine form cylinder having, in an interior space thereof, a winding reel and an unwinding reel for a printing film drawn around the outer casing surface of the form cylinder, respective ends of the printing film being fastened to the winding reel and the unwinding reel inside the form cylinder, the form cylinder being formed with a cylinder gap extending in the direction of a generatrix of the outer casing surface of the form cylinder, the cylinder gap being defined by cylinder gap edges which are formed on the form cylinder and around which the printing film is guidable into the interior of the form cylinder, includes a cover element closing the form cylinder gap, and at least one pressure roller disposed on the cover element and bearing against the printing film for guiding it out of the interior of the form cylinder over one of the cylinder gap edges.

  • Patent number: 5727463
Abstract: An ink fountain for offset or letterpress printing presses is taught. The ink fountain has an ink dosing device with dosing elements which can be set to zonally different ink gap thicknesses on an ink ductor roller. The dosing elements are covered by an elastic film. An ink chamber is closed on both ends with closures. The two closures are connected by a cross arm to which cross arm the elastic film is fastened.
