  • Publication number: 20090121365
Abstract: The invention relates to an eddy chamber for generating turbulence in a medium flowing through the chamber, comprising an inlet opening, an outlet opening and at least two constrictions in the cross-section thereof. In the region of the constrictions, the inner profile of the eddy chamber has the form of wave crests (10, 12, 25, 27, 30) in section parallel to the longitudinal axis thereof. According to the invention, the mixing may be improved and the pressure drop held small, whereby the angle to the longitudinal axis (z) in the direction of the outlet opening (15, 31) at the inflection points (12a, 25a, 27a, 30a) on the flanks of at least two wave crests (10, 12, 25, 27, 30) facing the inlet opening (9, 23) is larger.
