Publication number: 20060029158Abstract: A method of preventing amplitude peaks from appearing in a processed signal that has been generated from at least one baseband signal by one or more signal processing operations is described. The method includes two or more individual peak cancellation steps, each peak cancellation step including deriving an estimate for the processed signal, assessing the estimate to detect amplitude peaks, and adjusting the baseband signal to prevent any detected amplitude peaks from appearing in the processed signal later on. The invention also relates to a peak cancellation stage for efficiently performing peak cancellation.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2002Publication date: February 9, 2006Inventors: Dietmar Lipka, Jurgen Dietz, Georg Frank

Publication number: 20030110110Abstract: A bank-note processing system comprises bank-note processing machines (M1-M4) set up in a room (R) and adapted to be individually operated wirelessly by a control unit (BE). In dependence on the position of the control unit (BE) within the room (R) the control unit is configured by the closest machine (e.g. M4), for which purpose said machine (M4) passes machine-typical data to the control unit (BE) in a log-in procedure. The control unit (BE) can be used to wirelessly operate different bank-note processing machines even of different types. This simplifies operation, on the one hand, and permits simpler realization of security measures, on the other hand, e.g. the limitation of operation to certain operating functions for certain groups of persons within one and the same room.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2002Publication date: June 12, 2003Inventors: Jurgen Dietz, Graham Rawlings, Thomas Hildebrandt, Klaus Buchmann, Norbert Holl

Patent number: 5327049Abstract: An electrodeless low pressure discharge lamp, preferably filled with deuterium gas, is provided with a cylindrical envelope made from quartz glass and surrounded by a cylindrical excitation coil driven at between 10 and 800 MHz. Within the lamp envelope, there is provided a cylindrical aperture member made from boron nitride which in a radial direction extends to the inner surface of the envelope and which is provided with an uninterrupted coaxial channel for confining to a small diameter the plasma discharge arc generated during operation of the lamp, the aperture member having an optical axis extending through coaxially with its channel, the radiation emitting in a directed pattern along the optical axis.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1992Date of Patent: July 5, 1994Assignee: Heraeus Instruments GmbHInventors: Ernst Smolka, Werner Schwarz, Peter March, Klaus-Jurgen Dietz

Patent number: 5157376Abstract: Monitoring of trailer indicator lights includes a flasher pulse generator provided for generating, upon the switching on of a direction signalling switch, fixed pulse frequencies which can be changed over as a function of deviations of the load connected to the flasher pulse generator from its nominal load. The monitoring is carried out without requiring a change over of the flasher pulse generator to a "trailer mode" of operation. When the trailer is electrically connected, and upon the failure of one of the trailer indicator lights which are to be switched on and operated via a separate voltage supply at the frequency of the flasher pulse generator, one of the indicator lights of the towing vehicle is isolated from the electrical load of the flasher pulse generator. As a result of this simulated light failure, the frequency generated by the flasher pulse generator is changed over the imminent generation of a control signal to the vehicle driver.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1991Date of Patent: October 20, 1992Assignee: Mercedes-Benz AGInventors: Jurgen Dietz, Dieter Braunig

Patent number: 4965555Abstract: In a device for monitoring the liquid level in a tank, utilizing a reed switch projecting into the tank in an internally cylindrical hollow rod and a float provided with a permanent magnet and guided on the hollow rod, the reed switch is constructed as an independent exchangeable part introducible into the hollow rod with an accurate fit and with a small assembly outlay. The slide-in part has three radially resilient abutment zones distributed uniformly around the circumference. In order to accurately introduce the slide-in part into the hollow rod, with a minimum of force, three axial guide grooves associated with the resilient abutment zones are formed radially outwards in the inner envelope surface of the hollow rod. In order to achieve the final accurate fit, the slide-in part, introduced completely into the hollow rod, is rotated until the resilient abutment zones are located in regions between the guide grooves of the hollow rod.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 1989Date of Patent: October 23, 1990Assignee: Daimler-Benz AktiengesellschaftInventors: Michael Huttenberger, Wolfgang Kleineberg, Hans Schaal, Thomas Attinger, Jurgen Dietz

Patent number: 4634454Abstract: A method and apparatus for separation of an isotope mixture of hydrogen, sting predominantly in molecular form and/or inbound form, from the remaining components of a gas. A first chamber is separated from a second chamber by a wall which is permeable for atomic hydrogen and less permeable for molecular hydrogen. The hydrogen is converted into atomic hydrogen or, if necessary, is separated in atomic form from the material with which the hydrogen has gone into chemical composition. A device electrically operable independently of the wall is provided for converting the molecular and/or bound hydrogen to form atomic hydrogen in apparatus for this purpose. A heating device for elevating the temperature of thread, wire, or body of other form capable of being heated above 1500 K is provided and such thread, wire, or body is made of high-melting material, such as tungsten, iridium, osmium, or rhenium.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1981Date of Patent: January 6, 1987Assignee: Kernforschungsanlage Julich Gesellschaft mit beschrankter HaftungInventors: Imran A. Patent number: 4494965Abstract: An apparatus utilized for separating hydrogen isotopes from a gas mixture separate isotopes contained in a hydrogen isotope mixture. The apparatus is provided with two chambers closable by valves and surrounded on all sides by walls and separated from each other by a wall or partition of material differing from palladium though permeable preferably for atomic hydrogen and permeable only to a lesser extent for molecular hydrogen. One of the chambers is connected with a gas supply line as well as a gas discharge line, and the other chamber, provided for collecting isotope mixture coming through the permeable wall, is capable of being evacuated. The remaining walls of the chambers consist of material which is not or is only poorly permeable for hydrogen isotopes.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1982Date of Patent: January 22, 1985Assignee: Kernforschungsanlage Julich Gesellschaft mit beschrankter HaftungInventors: Imran Ali-Khan, Karl-Jurgen Dietz, Francois Waelbroeck, Peter Wienhold
