  • Patent number: 6674529
Abstract: The present invention creates an apparatus for determining physical collective parameters of particles in gases, which comprises a measuring chamber with light entrance ports (121) and exit ports (123, 124) for electromagnetic radiation, an emission source (113) for electromagnetic radiation being provided and at least two detection apparatuses (114, 115) for determining the intensity of electromagnetic radiation scattered at the particles being provided, and the detection apparatuses (114, 115) detecting electromagnetic radiation of different scattering regions. The present invention further creates a method for determining physical collective parameters of particles in gases, the particles being exposed to electromagnetic radiation which is scattered at the particles, wherein the intensities of the scattered radiation of at least two different scattering regions are determined and their ratio is taken subsequently.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5460312
Abstract: The travel of a fabric web is corrected by an image acquisition from a region thereof including a guidance criterium which can be interrupted to produce a single row of image points, the signals of which are digitalized and compared with a reference signal by relative shifting of the stored signals in two shift registers. The number of shifts required to bring about correlation is determined as a measure of the actual position of the web and compared to a setpoint position for operation of an effector restoring the web to its set point position.

  • Patent number: 5322990
Abstract: A device for reading code lines on a moving carrier in which the lines extend transverse to the direction of movement. The reading head extends across the web and has a row of sensors subdivided into groups. The sensors of each group have a length equal to the maximum length of the coding traces and the total row has a substantially greater length so that the sensors are subdivided along the row into groups. The signals from sensors of preceding groups in a direction of signal flow along the row are summed e.g. at operational amplifiers before being summed with the corresponding sensor outputs of subsequent groups.

  • Patent number: 4949191
Abstract: A system for scanning a surface moving rapidly parallel to the surface has a scanning panel fixed adjacent the surface and having a row of image sensors spaced in the direction and a stationary focussing unit arranged between the panel and the surface for focussing the sensors on respective fixed locations spaced in the direction. Thus portions of the surface successively align themselves with the locations as the surface moves in the direction past the unit. A shift register has a plurality of input stages each connected to a respective one of the image sensors to receive and store an output thereof and an output stage. This register is cycled to advance the contents of the input stages downstream toward and into the output stage. An output unit connected to the output stage receives the contents thereof as an image signal and a clock is connected to the register for cycling same and thereby moving the contents of the input stages toward the output stage.
