  • Patent number: 6133553
Abstract: A godet for advancing, guiding, and heating an advancing synthetic filament yarn, which includes a rotating godet casing, which is cup shaped and is mounted over a stationary, tubular support. In the space formed between the godet casing and the support, a radiation heater is arranged on the circumference of the support, and the radiation heater is formed by a heating coil which is wound about the support with a plurality of windings. The coil has over its length different spacings between adjacent windings to provide non-uniform heating along the length of the casing and thereby compensate for the non-uniform cooling of the casing which naturally occurs.

  • Patent number: 5532393
Abstract: The wax ester is prepared from a liquid mixture which contains at least one fatty acid and at least one fatty alcohol. The fatty acid and the fatty alcohol contain 6 to 30 carbon atoms per molecule. The mixture is agitated at temperatures in the range from about 105.degree.to 300.degree. C. and is sprayed into a spraying zone. An atmosphere which contains water vapor is formed in the spraying zone and is removed at least in part. The mixture of fatty acid and fatty alcohol may be agitated in at least one stirred vessel preceding the spraying zone. A catalyst is preferably not added.

  • Patent number: 4230413
Abstract: A mechanical pencil of the type in which a lead is gripped in a collet clamped about the lead by engagement between cooperating conical faces of a clamping ring and respective movable ends of two elongated collet members which form the collet and pass through the ring. The collet members are connected together at their other ends. The pencil is readily disassembled and assembled because the movable ends, when in the clamping position, are shaped to interfit with the bore of the ring, so as to permit passage of the collet through the ring in one angular position of the collet relative to the ring while preventing such passage except for limited axial movement in another angular position. Cooperating guide elements on the collet and ring hold the collet in the another angular position. A tubular closure member is releasably fastened to the barrel, and in the another position the collet can be axially displaced relative to the ring when the closure member is released.

  • Patent number: 3957705
Abstract: Anti-foaming agent compositions for use in aqueous synthetic resin or natural resin dispersions, containing a carboxylic acid-N-alkylamide having the formula ##EQU1## WHEREIN R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are alkyls having from 10 to 26 carbon atoms, n and m are integers from 0 to 2, with the proviso that one of n or m is other than 0, dispersed in water or an organic liquid.
