Publication number: 20240092749Abstract: A process for the epoxidation of propene involves reacting propene with hydrogen peroxide, in the presence of a methanol solvent and a shaped titanium zeolite epoxidation catalyst in a fixed bed reactor. The process then involves recovering methanol from the reaction mixture, treatment of the recovered methanol by passing it through a bed of an acidic ion exchange resin, and recycling the treated methanol to the epoxidation reaction; as well as regeneration of the acidic ion exchange resin. Catalyst breakage can be reduced or avoided by washing the regenerated bed of an acidic ion exchange resin with methanol until the methanol exiting the resin bed has an apparent pH higher than 1.8, before methanol treated with the acidic ion exchange resin is recycled to the epoxidation reaction.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2022Publication date: March 21, 2024Applicants: Evonik Operations GmbH, thyssenkrupp Uhde GmbHInventors: Maik BERNHARD, Sören Götz, Marc Brendel, Johan Anton, Matthias Pascaly, Thomas Noll, Jürgen Schemel

Patent number: 8766594Abstract: A method and a device are provided for the efficient charging of a vehicle battery of an electric vehicle by a charging station of a group charging station. The connected vehicle battery, starting from an initial charge state, is charged in accordance with a calculated charge priority value until the charge state of the vehicle battery reaches a selectable charge state. The calculated charge priority values of the vehicle batteries connected at the same time to the charging stations of the group charging station determine which batteries will be charged within a charging interval.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2011Date of Patent: July 1, 2014Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventor: Jürgen Götz

Publication number: 20090282924Abstract: A transducer arrangement for a nondestructive ultrasonic material testing system has a multiplicity of ultrasound transducers which can be moved linearly or swiveled along a trajectory curve. A multiplicity of ultrasound transducers can be aligned with a point of a specimen. If the size and the focal length of the transducers prohibit an annular or similar arrangement, the transducers are divided into smaller groups. They are then arranged so that every transducer passes over each desired focal point on the specimen during movement of the transducers along the trajectory curve.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2009Publication date: November 19, 2009Applicant: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Jürgen Götz, Stefan Hain, Hubert Mooshofer, Jochen Ostermaier, Fabricio De Carvalho Ferreira

Patent number: 7550648Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and an in-vivo assay system useful for the identification and testing of modulating agents as well as for the validation of therapies of neurodegenerative diseases associated with the formation of neurofibrillary tangles, in particular Alzheimer's disease. The present invention is based on the surprising finding that injection of ?-amyloid A?42 fibrils into brains of P301L mutant tau transgenic mice caused several-fold increases in the numbers and an accelerated production of neurofibrillary tangles in cell bodies predominantly within the amygdala. The induced neurofibrillary tangles occurred as early as 18 days after A?42 injections and displayed striking features of neurofibrillary tangles of several human neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2007Date of Patent: June 23, 2009Assignee: Universitat ZurichInventors: Jürgen Götz, Roger Nitsch, Feng Chen
