  • Patent number: 6196196
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for controlling an internal combustion engine (1) are introduced and have actuators (3), which influence at least one control parameter relevant for the consumption of fuel of the engine. A control appearance forms an index L for the run-in state of the engine. The drive signals y of the actuators (3) are changed in dependence upon the above-mentioned index L in a predetermined manner.

  • Patent number: 5878722
Abstract: A method for driving an electromagnetic load, particularly a solenoid valve that influences the fuel quantity to be injected into an internal combustion engine, the duration of the driving of the solenoid valve being correctable by a delay time, characterized in that the delay time can be specified as a function of the instantaneous value of the current to the desired switch-off procedure.

  • Patent number: 5533491
Abstract: A control system for metering fuel to an internal combustion engine is proposed. Time duration values TVO and threshold values are preferably pregiven for the engine temperature in the idle case XOLL and in the non-idle case XONLL in dependence upon the start temperature. In a preferred embodiment, and after a start temperature dependent time has elapsed, an inquiry is made as to whether the engine temperature has already reached values which correspond to stored threshold values for the idle case and for the non-idle case and a switchover from open-loop operation to closed-loop operation of the lambda control takes place in dependence thereupon.

  • Patent number: 5199300
Abstract: A device for controlling the temperature of a resistor used for measuring purposes is adversely affected in its measuring accuracy as the result of deposits on the resistor (8). To establish the degree of contamination and to initiate a free-burning operating, in the case of a device associated with an internal-combustion engine, the air volume (m), respectively the fuel quantity (k), is determined and compared to a specific limiting value (m.sub.Max or k.sub.Max). When the limiting value is exceeded, a trigger signal is emitted to initiate the free-burning operation in order to burn free the resistor (8).

  • Patent number: 5046924
Abstract: A method for controlling a consumer driven by an internal combustion engine 1 is suggested, especially a compressor 2 of an air-conditioning system of a motor vehicle, in which before the compressor is put into operation, the power output of the internal combustion engine is increased by a fixed amount before the compressor is switched on after a predetermined delay. The method is characterized in that the load occurring on the internal combustion engine as a result of the operation of the consumer is determined before the consumer is put into operation, and in that the power output of the internal combustion engine is increased as a function of the expected load, and the consumer is then put into operation. Preferably, to determine the expected load on the internal combustion engine, the pressure in the high-pressure region of the compressor is measured by means of a sensor 6.
