  • Patent number: 6858655
Abstract: Flexible polyurethane foams are produced from a polyisocyanate and a polyether polyol which has been alkoxylated in the presence of a double metal cyanide catalyst and that has at least one ethylene oxide-propylene oxide mixed block.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 6, 2000
Date of Patent: February 22, 2005
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 6472447
Abstract: The present invention relates to finely dispersed, low-viscosity polymer polyols which are stabilized in a novel manner and which are characterized by a high content of polystyrene or polystyrene copolymers. This invention also relates to the preparation of such polymer polyols, and their use for the preparation of polyurethane materials.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5994491
Abstract: A process for the production of polyisocyanates having a biuret structure, comprising continuously combining organic diisocyanates having aromatically attached isocyanate groups in a mixing chamber with organic diamines having aromatically attached amino groups in a molar ratio of at least 8:1 to form a reaction mixture; and reacting said reaction mixture at a temperature of above 180.degree. C., wherein a residence time of said reaction mixture in the mixing chamber from when said organic diisocyanates and said organic diamines are combined is at most 60 seconds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 13, 1998
Date of Patent: November 30, 1999
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Helmut Woynar, Manfred Schmidt, Jurgen Gronen
  • Patent number: 5750580
Abstract: This invention relates to polyurethane elastomers produced by the reaction of polyisocyanates with polyesterpolyether polyols (diester-polyether diols) using the reaction injection molding process (RIM).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 10, 1996
Date of Patent: May 12, 1998
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Eduard Mayer, Jurgen Gronen
  • Patent number: 5470523
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of organic compounds which contain epoxide groups and which are subjected to a heat treatment at 30.degree. to 150.degree. C. in the presence of an alkylating agent, as auxiliary substances to increase the weather resistance of molded plastic parts. These molded parts are produced by the reaction injection molding technique and the process comprises reacting reaction mixtures based on polyioscyanate addition products.
