Patent number: 7681739Abstract: A filter device includes a filter housing (10), a filter inlet (12), a filter outlet (14), and a filter element (16). The filter element divides a filter area (18) into two partial areas (20, 22). One partial filter areas is conical in form with the cross-section of that partial area (20) being tapered from the filter inlet (12) to the filter outlet (14). The partial areas are separated from each other by the filter element. This arrangement results in an optimum residence time distribution inside the filter device at a uniform flow rate, which is particularly useful for highly viscous fluids such as polymer melts or similar.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2001Date of Patent: March 23, 2010Assignee: Hydac Process Technology GmbHInventors: Norbert Lang, Jürgen Hausdorf, Ralf Wnuk

Patent number: 7210584Abstract: A filter device, in particular, for high-pressure applications in a molten polymer filtration, has a screw-in piece (10), provided with a first threaded section (12) for fixing the filter device, and a second threaded section (14) for fixing a filter medium (16), in particular, in the form of a metal wool and with a perforated support tube (18) for the metal wool. The other free end of the filter device is provided with a volume displacer (24). The metal wool is surrounded by a support grid (20) and fixed by two fixing pieces (28, 30), held at a separation from each other by the support grid (20). One fixing piece (28) is fixed to the second threaded section (14) of the screw-in piece (10). Publication number: 20040188345Abstract: The invention relates to a filter device, in particular for high-pressure applications in a molten polymer filtration, with a screw-in piece (10), provided with a first threaded section (12), for fixing the filter device, a second threaded section (14), for fixing a filter medium (16), in particular in the form of a metal wool and with a perforated support tube (18) for the metal wool. The other free end thereof is provided with a volume displacer (24), whereby the metal wool is surrounded by a support grid (20) and fixed by two fixing pieces (28, 30), held at a separation from each other by means of the support grid (20), one of which (28) serves for the fixing to the second threaded section (14) of the screw-in piece (10) and the other as a handle (30) for the fixing thus carried out.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 13, 2004Publication date: September 30, 2004Inventors: Ralf Wnuk, Jurgen Hausdorf, Thomas Schorn, Otto Sandmeyer, Norbert Lang

Patent number: 6604928Abstract: A filtering device for a spinning head for producing plastic threads. The spinning head has a housing in which the plastic melt flows through a filter element under pressure before exiting the spinnerets. The filter element is provided with a filtering material that is subjected to an axial contact pressure through a distributor device, according to the degree of pressure of the melt. This contact pressure acts upon the sealing edges of the filter element to close the sealing gaps. The special geometrical configuration of the filter element and/or its elasticity guarantee advantageous filtering in terms of energy. The filtering system is resistant to pressure and provides good, permanent sealing.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2000Date of Patent: August 12, 2003Assignees: Hydac Process Technology GmbH, Barmag AktiengesellschaftInventors: Ralf Wnuk, Norbert Lang, Jurgen Hausdorf, Markus Reichwein, Roland Nitschke, Jorg Alexander, Stefan Becker

Patent number: 6579348Abstract: A method for producing a sealing connection between a filter mat of a tubular filter element and a metallic head piece encircling the filter element at one end. The head piece has an annular groove accommodating the edge of the filter mat. In order to reduce the internal diameter of the annular groove, the wall adjacent to the periphery is compressed by the periphery of the head piece towards the interior by applying a force of pressure which is directed radially towards the interior. The wall of the annular groove adjacent to the periphery is provided with an enlargement which enlarges the diameter of the head piece. The force of pressure for compressing the wall is applied in the area of said enlargement.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2001Date of Patent: June 17, 2003Assignee: Hydac Process Technology GmbHInventors: Martin Winter, Ralf Wnuk, Norbert Lang, Jürgen Hausdorf

Publication number: 20020189993Abstract: The invention relates to a filter device comprising a filter housing (10), a filter inlet (12), a filter outlet (14), and a filter element (16) which divides a filter area (18) into two partial areas (20,22). At least one of the partial filter areas is conical in form resulting from the fact that the cross-section of one partial area (20) is tapered from the filter inlet (12) to the filter outlet (14). Said partial areas are separated from each other by said filter element. This results in an optimum residence time distribution inside the filter device at a uniform flow rate, which is particularly useful for highly viscous fluids such as polymer melts or similar.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2002Publication date: December 19, 2002Inventors: Norbert Lang, Jurgen Hausdorf, Ralf Wnuk

Patent number: 6343697Abstract: A filter device, particularly for filtering melt-type fluids, such as polymer melts, includes at least one filter disk having two filter disk halves connected to each other by their edges and provided with filter material on their exterior surfaces. The filter disk halves are held apart by a supporting device delimiting a substantially free hollow area between them, through which a fluid can flow freely. Inwardly, they delimit an outflow opening for the melt-type filtered fluid. The supporting device has individual supporting cams of substantially equal outer dimensions and arranged in several groups. Separated from each other, the supporting cams extend radially outwardly form the outflow opening, are rigidly connected to at least one of the two halves, and traverse the hollow area in such a way as to rest against the other filter disk half. This results in a filter device which is economical to produce and which has enhanced filter performance when in operation.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 1999Date of Patent: February 5, 2002Assignee: Hydac Process Technology GmbHInventors: Jurgen Hausdorf, Norbert Lang, Heinrich Teckentrup

Patent number: 5736045Abstract: A filter element has a support member with a support tube which can abut a filter mat and which is provided with apertures for the passage of a filtered medium. The apertures are formed by the axial spaces between individual rings of the support member. The rings are supported by support walls dividing the interior of the support tube into individual chambers. Since the support member is rendered compression-stiff, it exclusively supports the filter mat when the medium flows through. The respective support wall is directly connected to the rings. Each ring with its closed annular shape surrounds the support walls on the exterior. The filtration capacity of filter elements can be improved and the weight and cost simultaneously reduced owing to the highly stable and compression-stiff support member.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 1996Date of Patent: April 7, 1998Assignee: HYDAC Filtertechnik GmbHInventors: Peter Bies, Artur Jung, Michael Sakranchinsky, Jurgen Hausdorf

Patent number: 5560824Abstract: A filter device has a housing with connections for a fluid and can be secured to a filter pot. The filter has a filter element secured by a holder. A closure prevents the undesired leakage of fluid. The closure has two sealing plates with at least partly bound openings in mutually staggered array in two different planes. The openings can be mutually moved under the effect of a power store for closing or opening the openings. As the filter pot is moved further away from the housing, the closure gradually seals at least one of the connections and/or the filter pot off from the environment. The filter device has a universally usable closure which can be economically produced, requires little space inside the device and operates reliable.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1995Date of Patent: October 1, 1996Assignee: Hydac Filtertechnik GmbHInventors: Norbert Sann, Jurgen Hausdorf
