Abstract: There is disclosed a dental handpiece which comprises means at one end of the handpiece to mount a dental implement, a drive train arranged within the handpiece and extending to the implement-end in order to operate the dental implement, a light source arranged within the handpiece, and a light guide extending from the light source to a position adjacent to the implement-end of the handpiece for directing light to a treatment region adjacent to the dental implement, the light guide being arranged within the handpiece and along side the drive train.

Abstract: A dental equipment stand which includes a mounting component on which there is horizontally linearly displaceable a holder carriage for dental instruments which are removably restrained in individual holders, and is thereby supported so as to be movable sideways out of the mounting equipment. The individual holders can be moved aside in such a manner that a free space is produced below the mounting component whereby the instruments which are arranged within the individual holders no longer stand in the way of the close movement of the front side of the mounting component against the mouth of the patient.

Abstract: A dental equipment stand with an adjustable multi-component carrying arm for a dental mounting component, wherein the carrying arm consists of two hingedly interconnected pivot arms, of which the first pivot arm is arranged to be pivotable about a pivot bearing at the end remote from the second pivot arm so as to be pivotable about a horizontal axis. The pivot bearing is, in turn, supported in a carrying component so as to be rotatable about a vertical axis, and in which the second pivot arm at its free end supports the mounting component. The mounting component which is arranged at the free end of the second pivot arm so as to be pivotable can, for example, be a holder for dental instruments, a repository plate with, possibly, a holder located thereon for dental instruments, or the like.

Abstract: Foam inhibitor compositions comprising a mixture of(A) at least one monoester of a saturated fatty acid having 18 to 26 carbon atoms with an alkanediol having 16 to 20 carbon atoms, and(B) at least one carboxylic acid amide of the formula ##STR1## WHEREIN R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are saturated, linear or branched hydrocarbon radicals having 10 to 26 carbon atoms, and m and n are integers from 0 to 2 with the sum of m + n being an integer from 1 to 4, the weight ratio of component A to component B being from 5:1 to 1:5; as well as low-foaming washing agent compositions containing at least 0.2% by weight of said foam inhibitor composition together with at least one surface-active compound and at least one inorganic or organic builder salt.

Abstract: A medical treatment chair e.g. a dental chair, having switch housings releasably mounted on the back portion of the chair, and manually operated switches provided on the switch housings for electrically controlling the operation of parts of or associated with the chair e.g. movable parts of the chair or medical equipment to be used on a patient on the chair. A connecting cable is connected at one end to each switch housing and has a plug connector at its other end which engages a respective socket provided in the interior of the back portion. When the plug connector is in engagement with the socket, the cable prevents inadvertent removal of the switch housing from the back portion. To permit ready engagement and disengagement of each plug connector and socket, an access opening (normally closed) is provided in the back portion to enable manual manipulation of the plug connector and socket within the back portion.
