  • Patent number: 7618805
Abstract: A gamma-sterilizable nutrient medium based on casein soya peptone agar for the detection of microorganisms in hydrogen peroxide-bearing air or on hydrogen peroxide-bearing surfaces, with a content of between 2 and 10% by weight of sodium thioglycolate, between 5 and 20% by weight of sodium thiosulfate and between 10 and 30% by weight of sodium disulfite in each case with respect to the agar. Preferably the agar used is microbial content test agar and the nutrient medium may contain between 0.1 and 0.25% by weight of sodium pyruvate with respect to the agar. If bromocresol purple and bromocresol violet are used as pH-indicators the nutrient medium may also contain polyvinylpyrrolidone.

  • Patent number: 7249645
Abstract: An industrial truck has a vehicle frame (1) with a frame portion (2) having a lateral frame opening (2b) for receiving a battery block. A door (3) covers the frame opening (2b) and may be pivoted outwardly about a substantially vertical axis of rotation (A1). To allow the door (3) to be opened approximately 180°, the door (3) is connected to the vehicle frame (1) by a double hinge (5). A second axis of rotation (A2) is set apart and parallel to the first axis of rotation (A1) and is alterable in its position when the door (3) pivots about the first axis of rotation (A1). A device for obstructing a rotational motion of the door (3) about the second axis of rotation (A2) can be provided, which device can be active in the pivoting range between the closed position and an open position that is approximately at right angles.

  • Patent number: 5523214
Abstract: A method of visually demonstrating the growth of such microorganisms as fungi, yeasts, and bacteria, especially mycobacteria, identifying them, and testing them for sensitivity to antibiotics by the color change of a specific redox indicator system. A mixture of the redox indicators Methylene Blue and resazurin is added to the culture medium. Iron(III) salts mixed with K.sub.3 Fe(CN).sub.6, Iron(II) salts mixed with K.sub.4 Fe(CN).sub.6, or sodium tungstate (Na.sub.2 WO.sub.4) is added to the culture medium.

  • Patent number: 5358845
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of detecting proteins, especially HIV and CMV antibodies in body fluids using solid-phase immune reaction with a buffer containing an animal serum and/or a non-ionic surfactant in a phosphate or carbonate buffer together with further additives selected from inorganic salts, water-soluble polymers, organic compounds, and propionic acid and their derivatives and mixtures. The buffer makes it possible to reliably eliminate false positive results.

  • Patent number: 4886133
Abstract: An electromechanical scale wherein the platform transmits a load to lateral surfaces at one end of the carrier of a strain gauge and the other end of the carrier is affixed to the base of the scale. This contributes to a reduction of overall height of the scale. The carrier has a median portion with a web in the central symmetry plane of the carrier, and such web supports one or more strip-shaped resistors or semiconductors of the strain gauge. The ends of the carrier can be permanently or separably connected to the platform and/or to the base.

  • Patent number: 4678753
Abstract: A blood-culture flask with an integrated subculture. It comprises a flask proper that can be filled with a liquid nutrient solution and has a neck with an outside thread, a support that can be coated with a solid culture medium, a resilient stopper with an edge that projects at one end, and a screw cap. The screw cap consists of a bottom that is open above and below and has an inside thread and of a top that is open below. The inside thread is dimensioned so that it can be screwed down over the outside thread on the neck of the flask so that the upper edge of the thread is below the upper edge of the neck when screwed on. The resilient stopper is positioned inside the bottom of the screw cap so that the bottom surface of its resilient projecting edge comes to rest against the offset above the thread when not screwed on and its lower section is dimensioned so that it can be introduced tight into the neck of the flask.
