  • Patent number: 6035620
Abstract: A twisting spindle has a spindle that is driven in rotation, a protective pot supported on the spindle and secured against rotation, and a rotary disk fixedly connected to the spindle. The rotary disk has a radially extending yarn channel connected to the hollow spindle axle and supports a cylindrical mantle surrounding the protective pot. The cylindrical mantle has above the outlet opening of the yarn channel a yarn guide element. An intermediate housing that is freely rotatable and surrounds the rotary disk and the cylinder mantle is provided. A stationary outer housing receiving the intermediate housing is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5802834
Abstract: In a method for threading yarns of two supply bobbins positioned coaxially one atop the other in a two-for-one twisting spindle through at two-part hollow spindle axle and a yarn guide channel of a yarn storage disk with a compressed-air operated injection threading device, a first supply bobbin is inserted into a two-for-one twisting spindle. A free yarn end of a second supply bobbin is threaded from above through a yarn guide tube of the second supply bobbin. The free yarn end of the second supply bobbin and the free yarn end of the first supply bobbin are combined and guided into an inlet of a yarn guide tube of the first supply bobbin. The compressed-air operated threading device is actuated and the second supply bobbin is then inserted into the two-for-one twisting spindle on top of the first supply bobbin.

  • Patent number: 5778650
Abstract: A device for stopping a spindle of a textile machine driven by a drive belt has a roller for removing the drive belt from contact with the spindle whorl of the spindle. The roller is movable from a rest position, in which the roller is disengaged from the drive belt, into an engaged position in which the roller engages the drive belt and moves the drive belt away from the spindle whorl. A brake device for braking the spindle whorl is provided. A support member on which the roller rests in its rest position so as to be vibration-dampened is connected to the support of the textile machine.

  • Patent number: 5765354
Abstract: A textile machine has a machine frame with a first and a second end. Spindles are connected to the machine frame in two parallel rows extending in the longitudinal direction. A first tangential drive belt arrangement for driving the spindles of the first row includes a first tangential drive belt and two first shafts positioned at the first and second ends and having a first pulley connected thereto. The first tangential drive belt extends between the first and second ends and is guided about the first pulleys. A second tangential drive belt arrangement for driving the spindles of the second row includes a second tangential drive belt and two second shafts, positioned at the first and second ends and having a second pulley connected thereto. The second tangential drive belt extends between the first and second ends and is guided about the second pulleys. Two drive motors are positioned at the first and second ends.

  • Patent number: 5638669
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a twisted yarn includes the step of removing two rovings from two separate supplies and passing each roving through a separate drawing device. From each roving a separate spun yarn is produced by ring-spinning. Each spun yarn is collected in the form of a bobbin on a yarn carrier of separate hollow spindles, wherein the separate hollow spindles are positioned atop one another. With formation of a yarn balloon the spun yarn is withdrawn from the bobbins and guided through the hollow spindle axle of the respective hollow spindle. The spun yarn withdrawn from the upper one of the hollow spindles is guided through the hollow spindle axle of the lower one of the hollow spindles. Both spun yarns are then guided together to a winding device positioned below the lower one of the hollow spindles. The hollow spindles are rotated as a function of the winding speed of the winding device such that a twist of the spun fibers is at least partially canceled.

  • Patent number: 5170607
Abstract: A method of twisting a feed yarn of little strength, which is wound under little tension on a winding tube into a yarn package, wherein the wound yarn package with the winding tube is inserted into a spindle pot, the spindle pot is put in rotation, the winding tube is subsequently pulled out of the yarn package, and the feed yarn is then withdrawn from the inside surface of the yarn package and wound to a package or twist package.

  • Patent number: 5011092
Abstract: A method of automatically removing takeup packages of a two-sided textile machine, in particular a winding, spinning, or twisting machine with random doff by at least one automated handling device traveling along the longitudinal sides of the machine and of depositing the removed takeup packages on a conveyor belt common to both machine sides, which is arranged in the longitudinal center of the machine and adapted for a stepwise forward movement, and which is followed by a buffer zone. The automated handling device checks at each position of a due package doff and before delivering a takeup package to the conveyor belt, whether the belt is vacant at this position or already occupied by a takeup package. In the event of an occupancy, the automated handling device supplies to the conveyor belt drive a control signal, by which the conveyor belt is stepwise advanced until a vacant space on the conveyor belt arrives at this position.

  • Patent number: 4979360
Abstract: A transport and handling system for multi-position textile machines, in particular twisting machines, comprising a first track system, the path of which extends along the longitudinal sides of the machines, and which accommodates at least one automated handling device to perform servicing operations, and further comprising a second track systems, the path of which extends likewise along the longitudinal sides of the machines, and along which transport devices travel, which are adapted to be combined to trains and to receive working materials and/or working means. The paths of the two track systems extend parallel to each other over at least a portion such that the automated handling device is adapted to both engage with the transport devices and move past same.

  • Patent number: 4420108
Abstract: There is described and shown apparatus which is for the controlled feeding and taking-off of a thread 12 into or out of a thread treatment section 2 (for example a heating zone of a heat setting arrangement), and which comprises an externally-driven tapered drive roll 4 upon which bear two tapered counter-pressure rolls 5, 6, whereby the thread 12 can be fed into, and taken-off from, the treatment section 2, using only a single drive means for this feeding and taking-off. The arrangement shown is provided with two thread guide members 9, 10 of fork form, which are swivellable to vary thread tension, one of said guides being swivellable to move the thread engaged between roll 4 and roll 5 along one side of roll 4, and the other of said guides being swivellable to move thread engaged between roll 4 and roll 6 along the other side of roll 4.

  • Patent number: 4328663
Abstract: There is described a two-for-one spinning or twisting spindle in which thread drawn from a take-up package is threaded through from the bottom upwards by means of a compressed-air-operated threading arrangement so that it can be connected to thread, coming from a supply package, at the top end of a thread entry tube. In the arrangement shown, a thread storage disc of a two-for-one twisting spindle has therein a thread exit passage 8 the inner end of which opens into a short tube 10 which opens in turn into a hollow shaft 12 of the spindle, leaving an annular gap 11. In operation of the threading arrangement, compressed air is fed into a hollow shank 5 of the spindle from below and flows upwards through the annular gap 11. Because of this the short tube 10 acts as an injector nozzle which sucks the thread into the thread exit passage 8 from the side and transports it upwards through the hollow shaft 12 of the spindle.

  • Patent number: 4125992
Abstract: An improved spindle assembly construction for a textile yarn processing machine, such as a two-for-one twister and the like, which normally includes a rotatably driven rotor mechanism having a horizontally-extending reserve yarn storage disc and a generally vertically-extending hollow axle defining therewithin a yarn passageway extending therethrough and radially out of the storage disc, a stationary yarn supply package carrier mechanism rotatably mounted on the rotor mechanism so that the rotor mechanism rotates relative thereto, a yarn guide eyelet positioned above and in axial alignment with the hollow axle, and a driven yarn take-up winding mechanism, so that the yarn may be withdrawn from the supply package by the winding mechanism and pass through the passageway and through the eyelet to form a rotating balloon of yarn between the eyelet and the storage disc and around the carrier mechanism and the supply package as a result of the rotation of the rotor mechanism.
